Urgh, a tedious day of WAITING for me 🙄 Waiting to hear about my funding bid (which I have no real reason to believe will be today, other than that they released the decisions on 28th last year), waiting for the software to chunter through the motions for the work I'm doing today, waiting for a parcel to arrive.
Quite fidgety, and that is NOT helped by thunder rolling around us for the last hour without turning into anything else 🙄 I'm always a bit unsettled in a storm.
Still. Parcel is three stops away now apparently and I've discovered I can track it on a map if I look on the laptop rather than the phone 😂 And in the minutes while I'm waiting for the computer to catch up, I've been finding things to throw away in the study. I'm never going to be minimalist but I'm definitely more than ready for fewer possessions.
Can't do anything about the funding bid. I suppose until I find out, I can kid myself that I MIGHT still get it?! Rather than finding out that I definitely haven't?! 🙄😂 Suspect it'll be tomorrow now, or later, or Christmas 🙄
Might just make another cup of tea.
Spin class tonight - one of my parcels is a new exercise top - I only have ONE old race t shirt that fits at the minute and I've been getting a bit warm in that. This is sleeveless and I'm hoping not TOO unflattering... 😂7 -

Still no decision...
However I have FINALLY had invoices from the garage. Had both cars serviced - one needed a new spring and the brakes freeing up and headlight rewiring, the other needed wheelbearing, anti roll bar bushes, a new drop link (whatever that is) and all the locking wheelnuts replaced.
£604 for the old car, and £454 for the new one 😱😱
Good lord. I've never had a car serviced before, and I might not bother again 😂 the old one has an MOT in September and there had better not be anything wrong with it!! 😮8 -
My car is currently at the garage for a service and MOT, fingers crossed it is within budget.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

That's a bit of a sting in one go, but, some people pay £££s every month for car finance of one type or another - I stick with the occasional service/MOT deep breath!

I've just had my reminder for my car service but it's only done 14k miles in just over 3 years (from new) and am sure had a service not so long ago. It's hard to justify the expense isn't it but we do want to keep this car long term.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!6

All very good points. I've never had one serviced before - we tend to buy old bangers and run them til they're scrapped so there never seemed much point 🙄 Our 'old' car has a full service history so we thought we'd keep it up, and we wanted to give the new one a check up after we bought it.
Normally I'd pay a few hundred quid for various things to be fixed throughout the year anyway.
So yes, it just seems a lot all in one go - I think the answer is to spread the services/MOTs out through the year! 😂

You’re very handy Cheery, I’m sure you could have a go at servicing yourself with a Haynes manual (if they do one for your car -it’s definitely not a given these days).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
