I didn't have a screen to look at and I'm not sure I would have found it helpful. I kept my eyes shut the entire time as I knew the scanner was closer to my face than I was comfortable with. I listened to an album I knew well and thought of each song as being 3 minutes long so I used that to roughly keep time.

Eyes shut sounds sensible if you can. They'd cleverly positioned the screen behind us, with a kind of angled mirror in front, so it looked much further away from your face than it actually was I think, which helped!
Anyway. Nice cafe trip, and a functional nip to the shop, and to the DIY shop for a paint roller on a long pole - for some reason I got a second wind when I got in last night and started painting the outside of the house but obviously couldn't reach it all 😂 fortunately it's not the whole house, just two bits of the one storey extension, but they reach up into the pointed roof bit so needed a pole. Not doing that til the chickens are in!
Chicken medicine now 🙄 and then putting the roof on their run. Exciting!8 -
Well, half the chicken medicine is done 🙄😂 and we've rescheduled the vets appointment to next week - she's certainly not any worse and it's just too hot to be driving all that way with her if it's not super urgent. So that frees up tomorrow!
In other exciting news - we have finally ordered our kitchen! 😁😁😁 I chased the builder's mates who were going to send us a quote - apparently they sent it to the builder last week and thought he'd forwarded it on, but apparently it's floating round cyber space somewhere as I've not had it. Anyway, we've got it now, happy with it, laid the plan out in masking tape on the floor 😂 and have said yes 😮😃🙈
Costing
£5800 for the kitchen itself
£3k ish for the granite
Plus appliances (just fridge, hob and oven which we'll get ourselves)
Feels like a relief even though nothing has happened yet!13 -
How exciting Cheery - almost there 😊

Excellent on ordering your kitchen. I like the idea of mapping out the design with masking tape.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Don't know why we didn't think of the masking tape before - it really gives a good idea of where everything goes.
In other news - the pet cooling bed arrived today. How are people not talking about these things?? Why are they not marketed to humans?! Chickens won't go near the damn thing, but I've brought it to bed for a nap and it's BRILLIANT 😂 I'll definitely be sleeping on it tonight 😂 Highly recommend you all get yourselves down to the pet shop tomorrow before the end of the heatwave!7 -

Cheery, so much brilliant news! Your kitchen! That's a serious chunk of good news right there, and then there's the pet cooling thing and **swimming**! Was that at a baths, or a lido, or a wild river/pool? Wonderful stuff. I swam in the Thames at Oxford in years gone by - on purpose, I didn't fall in from a punt
it was very exciting
