Cheery's country living adventure

Hmm, most mysterious, I was convinced I'd posted this morning! Maybe I posted somewhere else?? 😮
Anyway. Long day, lots of meetings and not much else useful done. We did sneak in a cafe trip (under the guise of trying out the new car again before I take it to the dentist tomorrow (or rather it takes me to the dentist!)
The AA are having their discount starting today, so i signed up with a third off - £140 for the year (including home start, nationwide recovery and onward travel) -and I get a refund of the £35 call out fee I paid for the guy to fit the battery the other day too, which is great.
Just finished an online event (not work, but it did come straight after 2 hour work meeting) so I'm off out into the last of the evening sunshine.
Two hot air balloons set off earlier this evening from the valley behind our house, most exciting! Didn't spot them til they were a little way in their air and this picture doesn't do justice at all but it was very jolly! Lovely evening for a balloon ride 😊

Indeed, and I've managed to get another breezeblock laid for the chicken extension foundation too 😊 And Mr Cheery has built the frame for the next side of it, so that can be attached over the next couple of days as well 😊
Trying to work out timings for tomorrow. Dentist at 9.45, takes an hour to get there, but add a bit extra for traffic at that time of day anyway, and I CANNOT be late after they refused to see me last time 😮 so I think I might leave about 7.45 😮 Not left the house that early for yonks 😂 But that will leave me a whole extra hour for traffic, and getting stuck behind cows, cyclists, quarry trucks, and learner drivers, all of which caused me to be late last time 😂
Dentist is by the supermarket, so I can nip in for supplies if I'm super early.
My main concern is breakfast! Got to eat and have a good teeth clean before I leave, so that'll be 7.30 latest, then I'll be in the dentist til 11.40, and won't be able to eat for a while as i'm having a tooth out. Will have a hefty breakfast 🙄10 -
Hope you get there well in time and the procedures go well.8

Thanks teapot 😊
Well, wouldn't you know, the journey was very smooth and I didn't get stuck behind anything (although several things got stuck behind me - new car does definitely NOT have as much oomph as the other one!)
Still, we are here in an hour, and I am sat in the shady car park with over half an hour until my first appointment. Going to nip into the supermarket for supplies and treats I think.
Getting used to the new car - can't move up gears as quickly as the other one, it has very little pull in second which is a bit annoying given the number of hills round here, but I've driven it for an hour today after a couple of shorter drives on previous days and I'm definitely getting to know it more. Hoping the garage will find a small thing slightly wrong and fixing it will help give a little extra power 😂 It's a 1.4 diesel, same as the other car, so should be a little less sluggish i think.
Anyway, cars, blah blah. Let's move the focus onto TEETH and see if we can get something else ticked off the list - been waiting for these appointments for months! 😁9 -

Thanks - they must have worked as that was a surprisingly untraumatic experience! Both dentists were lovely, clean was fine with no anaesthetic, and only a tiny bit of anaesthetic for the removal, which was done in less than five minutes!
Let's hope I don't get a dry socket like last time... 😮9 -
Tooth seems to be healing nicely.
Day didn't turn out as planned - traumatic attempt to give Beaky her medicine this evening ended with a call to the vet because I thought we'd choked her 😮 fortunately we hadn't, but it was awful there for a few minutes 😕
Anyway, been outside and dug up some more grass round the new chicke run extension - making nice progress there now.
Just checked banks - had everyday rewards payments from bank so transferred another £5 to the kitchen fund - up to £1601.11 in there now. Wanted to get to £1700 this month - need to
* check prolific over next few days - think I'm up to nearly £10 now
* check if we've received vouchers for last covud study - don't think we've had the ones from the end of May yet, that'll be another £50
* do some more MB over the weekend - only up to £30 for this month so far and it would be good if it got a bit higher!
Nothing from car insurance- refund was £29, not £89, and they took an extra £49 for the different car so we're down, not up.
Ooh, but I changed the mortgage payment back to the minimum, which gives us an extra £580 from my wages which I've not transferred over yet! Might do that tonight, that will look far healthier!9 -
Well I didn't do that last night - will get on the case later. I did find the covid vouchers though- I'll print those today and then we can add an extra £50 to the pot.
Took my newly-serviced bike to the trails this morning! So pleased with myself, especially as it was raining. Sadly they've done something to either chain or gears and it's clunking every time the pedals are turned 😕 so I only managed 5 minutes before turning round, most vexing!
Still, got my other one booked in tomorrow, so I'll take this one back and they can (hopefully!!) sort both of them out.
Hopefully running tonight anyway with a friend so might get some exercise at least!7 -
Such a lot going on! Cars, bikes, teeth, chickens, as well as the usual run of finance stuff, plus Mr Cheery coping and healing long term. An evening run over your hills sounds like bliss (as long as you stop and look sometimes
).
