Cheery's country living adventure

Thanks folks, we're done now, he's just waiting in an endless queue for a blood test. Can't have it done at our docs and send the results to the hospital as apparently 'the two systems don't talk to each other' 🙄
Still, I've had a nice afternoon in a cafe with a pal, and a mooch round the charity shops 😊5 -
OK, bit of a financial update.
Total Happy Wheel (matched betting/casino) for May = £147 (coincidentally April was MINUS £147...). Now transferred to kitchen fund.
Also I used Boots points to pay for suncream, aftersun and insect repellant (2 for 1) today so have also transferred that to kitchen fund.
Kitchen fund now stands at £1480.51 which I am delighted about - I was hoping to save about £1000 before it started but here we are, with at least another month to go 😁
Did a YouGov survey today, only another 2735 points til payout (one of the questions was about what would make you like YouGov more - I ticked the 'more frequent smaller payouts' box 😂 ).
Speaking of kitchens, a nice woman is coming out in the morning to measure up for a free kitchen design, with fancy software and a walkthrough kitchen 😮 Hoping it will help me to visualise things. Would prefer a second hand one - but I'm also mindful that the idea of getting someone in was to make it EASIER, and for them to take ALL the work away, not for me to be dismantling kitchens or figuring out how to transport them across the country... So we'll see what she has to say.7 -
Cheery, it certainly sounds as if you managed to get a lot done over the weekend!
I hope that Mr C's hospital visit went well and the blood test results are what they should be.
I have found that my YouGov surveys have dropped off a lot recently, especially since they started the, unpaid, 'chats'. It usually takes me a couple of years to get up to £50, even responding to everything they offer, but I do much better with Prolific.
It's not difficult!
'Wander' - to walk or move in a leisurely manner.
'Wonder' - to feel curious.6 -
Yep - I do much better with Prolific too!
Thanks for your kind wishes for Mr Cheery. Hopefully get blood test results in a couple of days and results from yesterday's tests in a couple of weeks. Always fun waiting for test results! 🙄
In the meantime, premium bonds prizes are in, and we have won another £75 😮 that's £225 in the four months since we've had them, can't complain! When that arrives it'll go straight to the kitchen fund.
Disruption all round this week. Had Monday and Tuesday off, back today, and apparently Mr Cheery's sister is visiting on Thursday (I thought it was the weekend). Might have taken the whole week off if I'd been paying attention!
Hey ho. Also back on the Joe Wicks plan today- sick of having no energy and not fitting into any of my clothes! 😮6 -
Hooray for the pb win Cheery! Sounds like you are getting at least as much in wins if not more than the current sad Interest rates! A huge chunk of my savings about to go into the house deposit, but I really should think about moving the rest somewhere more lucrative.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I'm definitely in favour of premium bonds at the minute!! 😁
Just had a lovely woman round to measure up to design us a new kitchen 😁 Most exciting. And while she was here Mr Cheery had to rescue a blue tit which had somehow got into the bathroom 😮🙄4 -

I'm pretty pleased with the premium bonds! Hope they continue to do as well once we've paid for the kitchen and only have half the amount in 🙄😂
Feels like a long day today, not sure why. Kitchen woman was cheery - she's going to do us one of those 3D kitchen things so we can see what it will look like 😁 Most exciting. Had a celebratory cafe trip (I've not been at work since Thursday so triaged my emails over a cuppa), quick nip to buy fruit, then I spent the rest of the day working outside on the swing seat with the chickens pecking round my feet 😁 Most jolly.
Just been back into town for a walk and a supermarket top up - got 2 sets of visitors this week.
Nothing else financial to report i don't think. Filled the car with diesel. Bought a couple of tops from a charity shop (one of which doesn't quite fit which is most vexing), and a couple of books. Found what I think is my birthday present from my mother, which she gave me several weeks before my birthday and I promptly forgot about 😮
Ready for bed now! Mr Cheery's sister is coming about 10.30 tomorrow, hopefully we can be outside though so I'm not doing too much tidying!9
