Have a lovely visit this afternoon, Cheery! How brilliant2023: the year I get to buy a car4

You certainly planned your holiday from work at the right time with the glorious weather you have today Cheery, well done you. So nice to read that you have been able to put your feet up for a while this morning and then merrily got on with some cleaning/housework whilst waiting for your visitors.
So glad to read that you have been darning socks because I don't think many do that anymore but we do, in fact, we both enjoy doing that job in this house 🤣🤣

Ha - not just any socks, but socks that I knitted myself, no less!
Yes, it's a glorious day, and SO nice to have visitors! They're still here, I'm just waiting for the kettle to boil 😂 Going to take them on a little walk to see our new woodland 😁6 -
Your cleaning earlier way exceeds my standards, washing down paintwork always makes the place look better. My housework today has so far been having the back door and some windows open for a number of hours and loading the dishwasher, I might motivate myself to do some more later.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

It's a pretty low bar for housework here - I'm not sure I've cleaned the paintwork since we moved in 3 years ago 😮 Not sure what moved me to do it this morning, other than it was just SO grim even I couldn't stand seeing it in the sunshine 😮😂6

So pleased you've had sunshine for your social Cheery. Hope it raised your spirits.

After reading here earlier I was walking through our small hallway and noticed all the fingerprint smears on all 5 doors as well as the little bits of walls in between them all. It would have been good to clean them as soon as I noticed, then I could be polishing my halo, as it was I needed to cook the dinner, so this task now needs to wait until the weekend at least I have time to locate the sugar soap and spray bottles. 2 spray bottles in case the children decide it looks exciting and wish to take over 😉Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Ha - good luck with having the children help! I think the idea for doing mine got into my head because my sister had been doing hers. One of her kids was at school, another one said 'I can't do it because my arm hurts and the third said 'why do I have to do it when Daddy doesn't??' 🙄😂😂 Hopefully yours will be more helpful!!
We have had SUCH a lovely time with our visitors. So very lovely to see them!! So nice. And so nice to sit outside and have lunch in the sunshine, and linger over tea and cake. We went for a little walk round the lanes too, so lovely. Tired now, the sort of tired you get after a long warm day being outside. I feel replenished 😊😊
Got another visitor coming tomorrow - a new ish local pal who i don't know very well, but have been for a walk with a couple of times when we've been allowed. So pleased she's going to pop round for lunch (and we've got various bits leftover from today's lunch so I won't need to do much extra). Weather still looks ok too 😊8 -
Ooh, minor financial activity - we've just bought Mr Cheery a prescription prepayment certificate. Not had one before, but he's likely to have a bit of a round of prescriptions this year so seemed sensible. We'll write on it to see if it pays for itself - although he'll likely not get another as we've just realised the free prescriptions age is 60 (which he'll get to next year, a few months after the certificate runs out). I'd thought it was the same as the pension age I think!
No need for me - I get mine all free anyway after I had my thyroid removed a few years back.
Lost another £10 on MB this evening, and now down to £207 for March. All very well and good but I'd rather it stayed over £200! Only one more day to go - and one more day of chicken lockdown to go! And the premium bonds winners are announced on Thursday too - all exciting this week!7 -
Which I've just realised means Agent Million will be ringing round the new millionaires TOMORROW - keep your phones on people - I'll be answering unknown numbers tomorrow just in case!!7
