Good tip BB!
Tip trip done (got rid of a manky old duvet we used to use when sleeping I the car, several blankets, and a giant storage box, among other things). Also had a walk round town, and picked up some superglue for the freezer door seal, which is rapidly becoming much more trouble than it's worth 🙄
Got ONE ceiling panel up, but I confess I'm being quite grumpy about it today 🤨 Had to cut twice as I did it wrong the first time, and these bits are bigger and therefore heavier and more difficult to get into place than the ones on the other side of the room. Mr Cheery can't really do much as he's still so dizzy (so lifting large heavy things above your head while on a ladder isn't really a good idea).
Still, five left now (until after the builders have been - there'll be about another ten left after that I think).
I might stop for today though - at risk of either wasting yet more plasterboard, or injuring myself in a grump - neither of which are ideal! I've still got five I can do the sealant round though - that's a MUCH easier job - and after that it'll be time for bedtime treats for the chickens, and then I might have a bath.8 -

I'm mega-jealous that you can do umpteen trips to the tip - we have to book ours online, turn up at a given time, only one person in the vehicle, 'tell us what you're bringing'....sad times!
On a different (but slightly related) note, a dear friend of ours died last June from prostate cancer. At his funeral his daughter mentioned how trips to the local tip with her father were a highlight of her childhood and a fond memory of Sunday afternoons....#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3666 -
I hope you have managed to show the grump the door.

Thank you all 💜
I am marginally less grumpy after a long bath with a book 😊 two weeks at work then a fortnight off which might help! 😁
JGB, gosh, that sounds drastic 😮 Ours are pretty lenient. The website says 'essential journeys only' - is clearing out your house essential?? Probably not... - but there are no notices at the tip and nobody has ever said anything. We usually both go, and wear masks, and go early/late/weekdays mostly so there's usually only us and another couple of cars.
Went to a different tip the other day (in the county we actually pay council tax too, rather than the one our address is in...) - they said only one person per car should unload, and we planned to, but there other people doing multiple people per car and nobody said anything, so... There was a queue there, and both of us unloading meant we were done in about 5 mins.
Anyway. Paid the builder, and arranged to meet a local pal for a walk tomorrow evening to ease us back into running 😁 Hope it stops raining! Also hope I can do my damn sports bra up! 🤔😮😮8 -
Morning chums!
Reasonably productive start to the day. £24 made on MB (£62 total for the month now, although as we know that might go down as well as up...). Also did some exercises while it was whirring away in the background - going to try to make that a bit more of a routine. I've got some eggs boiling and some veggie sausages in the oven, so hopefully will have a nice easy to prepare lunch ready for later
Best go and start work. Need to finish at 5 to get changed and meet my friend for our walk, and I've got lots to do today. Not difficult though, just time consuming, so the sooner I start, the sooner it'll be over...6 -
@Cheery_Daff I would so much rather be walking with a friend than sat at another Monday of Teams meetings, but needs must! Hope it's as lovely and Spring-like where you are.

Still windy here Chigle, but the sun has at least been shining a little bit!
Forgotten I had some teaching this afternoon - only an hour (and a separate student meeting) but quite disrupts my plan for the day!6 -
@Cheery_Daff Monday is grim for me - four hours of teaching plus numerous pastoral duties - thank goodness I don't work Tuesdays!2014 starting mortgage £165,0002015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in fullCurrent outstanding balance - £115,8566
