Cheery's country living adventure

So, Tuesday 😊
Banks are ok. Breakdown cover has gone out, cashed in premium bonds have come in, so I can stop keeping quite such a diligent eye on the account for now, thank goodness.
Nowt much to report. I've started doing Prolific again - not going to do any other surveys as for me right now they're not worth the time for how annoying they are. But Prolific are fine - I'm going to cash out whenever I get to £10and add it to the Kitchen Offset Fund (KOF??) Up to £8.52 now with £1.48 pending so hopefully thT'll clear soon and I'll have my first lot!
More MB over breakfast this morning, and I actually did reasonably well today - about £15 in total I think! Sadly the last week has been dire, so despite today I'm still down about £18 overall in March 🙄 I was down £63 at one point! 😮 Hoping to be substantially in positive figures by the end of the month!
Plans for later:
* 2 short yoga sessions as breaks this afternoon
* walk for an hour with Mr Cheery
* half an hour outside doing something physical (possibly moving more woodchip, or cutting back more ivy)
* bit more MB over tea
*eat something healthy for dinner and tea! Not sure what yet... something with eggs in! 😂 and I must bring some kale and leeks out of the garden 😁 maybe omelette for lunch and some kind of stir fry and noodles for tea?
Right, best get on!7 -
Gosh, with doing those casino offers, you've really got to accept playing the odds literally, don't you, Cheery. Good for you - hope you end March *well* up - it's only 9th now!2023: the year I get to buy a car7

Yep, it does have a tendency to swing a bit - you really have to have the right mindset for it... but I know it does work over time... will see where I am at the end of the month.
Well, some of those things got done! Had veggie sausage, mushrooms and halloumi for lunch (more of a platter than an actual meal, but who cares), and stir fry with chick peas and noodles for tea. Felt good to be cooking something!
Didn't manage yoga, but Mr Cheery and I did walk for an hour, and I spent almost an hour outside too in the dusk 😊 Talked to a friend on the phone, shifted another narrow of woodchip, and did an experimental row of scything - it was actually a lot easier than I imagined it would be, as I'm essentially just getting rid of the dead grass stalks from last year to stop it forming a thatch and going all tussocky.
That's it I think. Tired now! 🙄
Lots to do tomorrow. First thing I have a lecture to record, then meetings at 10 & 12, and plenty else to do. Mr Cheery wants another tip trip 🙄 and I've got counselling at 5.30, so unlikely to have any gardening time tomorrow.
But I've booked Friday off work again and looking forward to getting some cheery things done!10 -
Evening MSE chums 😊
Just popping in to report... well, nothing really 😂 Wild and windy here today. Chickens jumpy at all the strange noises, poor things. I mostly stayed cosy inside. Internet has been playing up which is MOST vexing but I did manage a couple of meetings without hiccup.
Still not had the letter from the builder... 🤨 Not sure whether he's sending a letter or an email, but all his communications so far have been within 24 hours, and this time it's been almost a week since I said yes to his quote and nothing! 😠 Let's hope it's just stuck in the post and he hasn't gone flaky on me already!
Up to £9.62 on Prolific, with 38p which has been pending for a few days now. Oddly, the last few studies I've clicked on have either been full or withdrawn, and I've had a message to say "but your account is still in good standing" - I should think so! We'll see what happens...
Tomorrow is a busy one. Back to back meetings from 9.30 til 2 with no break (how did that happen??!) But once they're done, most of the rest of what I have to do involves reading stuff, which can be done on the sofa 😁 I might even light the fire if I can be bothered braving the coal shed!
And I've booked Friday off so a three day weekend beckons. Hope the weather picks up!7 -
Poor jumpy chickens
and poor you, 4.5 solid hours of meetings, good heavens. Sofa-led reading is highly recommended

Thanks SC, that very thing just happened again - I refreshed, and it let me join! £1.01 in the bank!
I set up the Chrome Prolific Assistant yesterday on my work laptop and it's been most annoying, sending me all kinds of lucrative surveys while I've been in meetings and not able to do them 😂😂7 -
Gosh, what a day! 5 hours of back to back meetings 😮 Had to join a couple late just so I could go to the loo! 😮
Came to the tip with Mr Cheery for a change of scene (and to sit on something other than my desk chair). It was sunny when we left, bucketing down now.
Other errands done too. Collected my prescription - sadly the doc hadn't pressed the button to issue Mr Cheery's so we'll have to go back tomorrow 🙄 Also did a click and collect for a foam roller so picked that up too.
Home now, and a bit more work before an online session about recycling with a local group this evening 😁
Oh, and I opened emails to email the builder, only to find he'd already emailed me this morning! So all good.
Right, best get on...

Nothing else financial to report. A bit more MB done, still hovering between £15 and £20 down for the month - individual days go up a bit, down a bit... Still, not even half way through yet so we'll see (right this second it's feeling like a lot of effort for not much reward but let's see what the month adds up to!)
Did another couple of Prolific surveys, got another £2 odd to come. I'll cash out when it gets to £10, I've been 38p off for days 😂
But now I'm off for 3 days, hooray! Going to meet a local ish friend for a takeaway cuppa tomorrow hopefully - last time, before Christmas, we sat in separate cars with the windows down and if the weather is like today we might do the same...
Also on the list...
* probably another tip trip
* kitchen ceiling!
* sort out the freezer - it's defrosted but the soggy towel is still sat in the bottom, and the old seal needs removing and new one put on. Yawn. Also the manky carpet we use as a "temporary" door mat got quite soaked and isn't drying out so that may finally go (good riddance, it was only ever there for the last lot of builders to trample on - in Nov 2019!!)
For now though, horlicks and bed 😁7 -
But what will the new builder stand on if you do 🤔?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
