Regarding the tank could you get some sticky-backed vinyl in the same colour as the tank and cover up all the branding on the tank?Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Yeah, plain sticky-backed plastic could work well. Or a splosh of paint!
Cheery, love the aim of cutting another 3.5 years off the mortgage, sounds very doable, given the pace you're going at.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
Not sure I've ever seen a painted LPG tank! I think technically it's their property, not mine, so I suppose they can do what they like with it....
At any rate, I can't imagine I'll get round to anything soon!
I'll need to work out how much extra we'd need to pay off in the next 3.t years to get to that point. Spreadsheet says with only the regular overpayments we'll be at £135k by that point and without sitting down properly with a pen my poor little brain can't figure out what I would need to work out 😁😁
Fortunately I have tomorrow off work so have most of the day to work it out! 😂
Having a nice morning - Mr Cheery brought his laptop into my study and sat on the sofa while I worked at the desk. Quite cheerful to be in the same room for a change, although it did make me realise how much I usually talk to myself when I'm working 😮😂😂8 -
One of the best thing about the whole MFW quest is the spreadsheet scenarios and what ifs we create! Focusing on the process rather than the actual outcome...that's how I approach things then the overall figure or date isn't so daunting, or even disheartening.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......7

Ha, I quite agree - never enjoyed spreadsheets so much til I met you lot! 😂
Three day weekend for me now, woo hoo! Not going entirely to plan as there's now an appointment to fit in, but should be plenty of space around that.
Still freezing, so the plan is to focus on the kitchen ceiling, and on attempting to find someone to shift the sink and add another radiator (and preferably balance all the radiators as I am SICK of half the house being warm and half being freezing!)
Don't think there are any other pla s really - on a kitchen mission right now... (well, not RIGHT NOW - currently about to head to bed...) 😂7 -
Sounds a good plan - ceiling, plus balanced radiators, should improve the ambient heat for sure. Lovely 3 day weekend too!2023: the year I get to buy a car6

Gosh it's chilly! Been on a little excursion today - not exciting as it was for a hospital appointment, but it did involve travelling further than we have in a while, and it was lovely to see some different scenery and have the sun streaming into the car!
Picked up a couple of DIY things while we were out, so I've now got filler for round the edges of my plasterboard, and some cement to make a start on filling the holes in the walls (not holes to the outside, it's not that bad!! Bit where the plaster has come off, and the underlying stone is VERY uneven, and we're going to add a few wall ties before we plaster again).
My chimney sheep has arrived!! Sadly I can't take a picture as my phone camera is still bust 😮 And I think perhaps I should have ordered a rectangle not a circle - the chimney higher up is a circle, but it can actually sit a lot lower than that, and the bit where it would most obviously sit is a rectangle. I guess you don't know til you try... there's a tiny gap in one corner but I've left it for now - will shove it further if I have to!
Just going to make another cuppa then see if I can get hold of a plumber, and then get started on the ceiling again...8 -

Well it's DEFINITELY stopped the draught, and the dreadful spooky ghost noise that rattled about when you have the door to the study closed, so I'd counting that as a win!! 😂
Rang 3 plumbers. One is booked til July, which is no use (he mostly does a bit of plumbing on the side of fitting whole kitchens though, so we're probably not an ideal customer. One I left a message with. The third called straight back - they're drains type plumbers (rather than heating type plumbers) and said it sounds straightforward to move the sink - they're going to call round this week but that sounds promising.
Just stuck another piece of plasterboard up, and while the glue dries I'm going to experiment with putting filler round the existing ones. Hope I don't make a massive mess of it but I guess we'll find out 😂10
