Cheery's country living adventure

You're doing very well, Cheery! I'm very interested in how your chimney sheep will fit once it gets to you - I have a chimney balloon in the open chimney in my living room, for the same reason. It's a plastic, pad shaped thing, you stick it up the chimney and then blow as far as it will extend. It kind of does the job, but because the blow spout has to stick a long way out, it looks, well, phallic, quite frankly
before lockdown quite a few people noticed and actually queried it with me.
Just found their website too - the company looks great. Much better than using plastic, but I'd still be interested to know what it looks like.2023: the year I get to buy a car7 -
Will report back with pictures 😁 Mr Cheery just reminded me we stuffed the chimney in the living room with an assortment of bubble wrap etc when we had the gas fire removed - we don't use that one at all though (hoping to fit a stove in there in the long distant future!)
For this one I wanted something easy to put in and take out as I do light it fairly regularly. Someone on a local 'warm homes' FB group mentioned this and gave it a good review. We'll see!6 -
Thanks for that. They have a lot of really good products on their website, and their trees initiative is brilliant. Buying that sort of thing from that sort of company feels very positive, much more than buying from a well-funded national charity. They've just pinged my interest2023: the year I get to buy a car7

Mine too KC! And I confess I was entirely swayed by it being called a Chimney Sheep 😁 Marketing is important as well 😁 (and I'm easily amused...)
Gosh, how did it get to be nearly 1pm??6 -
Love their web-site Cheery - they even have decorative dangles to remind you it is there before lighting a fire!
OH is rather taken by their rotary drier mac - though I'm the one who does that particular chore and am not enamoured of getting wet myself!😂4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Ooh, I didn't even look at the rest of the shop!! Figured I wouldn't need anything else so was trying to be a good MSE-er (and also I was in bed and trying to do it before Mr Cheery came up and realised I was still messing about on the phone 😂 ). Could have saved myself the cost of postage by ordering a cheery dangle or something, how annoying!6

Maybe as they are a small homegrown business you could call and amend the order before they ship out???4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! The cheery dangles are lovely - it makes me think of a way to use non-denominational Christmas ornaments, I'm very unlikely to have a tree in a bucket ever again. And I have a lot of camels and a lovely polar bear
The stuff I was most tempted by was the nesting boxes, but I think I need to understand more about the pros and cons of each one, and where best to site each type.

I have managed to finish work at 5 for once so we are heading out for a walk in the (just about) daylight!7 -
So, some more progress!
Reconciled banks and YNAB - turns out for some baffling reason the tyre people refunded me £38.98 rather than the £14.99 I thought it should be... Not sure why, and I'm not going to bother quibbling with them... So I've paid that off the mortgage, not bringing the end month down any sooner, but saving us £12.35 in interest
Double checked the new insurance policy and I'm leaving it as it is, which means I need to cancel the autorenewal for the other one TOMORROW or I'm going to end up with twoRenewal date isn't til the 14th, but apparently old insurers take the dosh 5 days early!
Cheeky... So need to stop them. Unhelpfully they're only open 9-5 and tomorrow I have meetings 9-12.30, 1-1.30, 2-3.30, and 3-4 (yes, there is an overlap). Will write a big post it note! (and possibly pull out of the 2-3.30 meeting as that's bloody ridiculous).
Otherwise everything looks fine and dandy in there as far as I can see...
