Indeed you are right Vix. Thanks folks!
All excitement today. Had an appointment this morning, and then we've been randomly selected to take part in the big ONS national COVID study, so the woman is coming out to do our first swabs in a bit. I'm pretty excited - I love being part of a big research projectnice to be on the other side for a change!
Also it counts as MSE because you get vouchers for the inconvenienceBut sadly it's a random sample so can't sign up, you have to wait to see if you're invited. I was very excited when I got the letter the other day!
Then (and this is not remotely money saving) we're taking Rusty chicken to the vets this evening. I stood on her foot last week, and she's still limping... we'd been hoping it would get better, but apparently not. I was just ringing for a chat but they've told me to take her in - problem is this vet is 1.5 hours away so quite a trek... Local vet is lovely but knows nothing about chickens. There is one about 40 mins away but we've not been to them yet so I was hoping to have a quick chat with this one, but, well, here we are.
The things we do for those pesky chickens!!
Best get on with some work I suppose, not got long before I have to stop, and we've got to squeeze the swabs woman in too!6 -
Aww - hope Rusty's foot is on the mend soon!
Cheery - I'm just amazed that they are coming out to you & giving you vouchers! Both OH & I were asked to participate earlier in the year & we were sent home kits to administer ourselves - definitely not a voucher to be gleaned out of it either!!!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 8 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 16 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!6 -
Hey Cheery I’ve just caught up! I think ill
have to go back and read your old diary too, I joined in 2009 and temember reading your diary back then! Loving the lists and the next courses of action! I hope Rusty’s foot is all ok.6 -
Hi Missy, yes you were definitely around back then! Interesting to see how life has changed for all of us since then!
Pah RT, maybe it was a different study? We're getting a visit (and swab, which we did have to do ourselves) every week for a month, then every month for a year. Hope the woman figures out how to get here next time though, had to go and find her 2 miles away in the village
Back from vets, an 80 mile round trip and £81 so not remotely MSEhowever we have ascertained that I did NOT break Rusty's foot (thank goodness!) In fact the vet couldn't see anything wrong with it at all, so said probably just a bit of soft tissue damage. We've got anti inflammatories and hopefully it'll settle down shortly.
Tired now!7 -
Glad to hear Rusty's foot is OK!
LOL - I'd not quite caught on that there might be more than one study - doh4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
