I haven't got time on my hands, but I am sure I can rearrange my schedule 😄

This should send you off - my very first diary from 2010 of course none of the smileys work so a lot of my ramblings don't look quite as cheery as they did back then! And it really is a load of waffle - but really interesting to read your own day to day rabbitings from 10 years ago - how different life was, and yet also how similar!

Not much to report. Did I say the vets rang to say they owed us £10?? they were going to post us some medication but we ended up back there before they stuck it in the post. Anyway, that's now been refunded - in fact I might nip and pay it off the mortgage while I think about it today...
Old car needs an MOT this coming week, but I forgot to ring the garage today. Will try in the morning but I don't think they usually open Saturdays. It's going to be a bit of a faff - normally I drop it off then go to work, but of course I can't actually get into work at the minute. We'll see.
I ended up going to the cafe on my own this morning, most unusual, but I was sick of sitting in that same room. Anyway, I actually got quite a bit of work done - nice to have a change of scene. I did spend £4.20 though, which having read back on my old diary now feels completely extravagant! Oh dear!!
Just remembered I haven't paid the invoice for the garage - must make a note to do that over the weekend.
What else? Meeting a friend for a walk and a picnic tomorrow - made a giant frittata yesterday but had something else for lunch so I'll take that. Going for another walk with different friends on Sunday - it's a good job really as my sister and I have unwisely entered the virtual London marathon so this will count as training we're walking it rather than running, but 26 miles is still a long way!
Anyway. I won't be long out of bed tonight I don't think. Did a couple of rows of scything this evening, and picked some peas from the garden (enough for a snack rather than a meal) and I'm done in!
Right, just done a bit of messing about with banks etc.
Went to pay garage invoice, but there's not enough in the main bank account Slightly startled me, as I feel like there should be more in there... but we're a week off payday, and I did sweep pretty much all the savings pots (including for things like MOT etc) into the savings account, so not surprising really.
AND I realised most of it is the fault of the LPG people They upped the DD to £237 last month, then I rang and paid the outstanding balance of £394, and changed it so the DD would be a flexible amount and only taken when we had a delivery - and then yesterday they took £237 again, so clearly they haven't changed it on their system So they've had over £800 in the last 5 weeks, so it's not surprising the bank account is looking a little sparse!
Needless to say their competitor who I missed a call from will be getting a call tomorrow, and current supplier will be getting a stern call straight after that. Pesky fiends! They're not keeping that £237 on the account either - they can refund it and I'll pay if and when they deliver me something. Grrr.
I suppose we also had the incident with the car keys which cost nearly £300 which just came out of the main current account too...
Nothing much to report other than that. Did a bit of recalling MB dosh to the bank account - I tend to let it sit in various accounts but I'm not really doing much at the minute. So that should be another... nearly £400 I think across various places (that's not in the main current account though - I have a MB only account).
Other than that, things are ticking over nicely I think. Couple of little things I'd forgotten about - annual payment to a local wildlife group (£12 for both of us for the year so not exactly breaking the bank ) and a couple of week's worth of payments to the cafe came out all on the same day, one after the other, so that was a bit of a shock
Paid my £10 vet refund to the mortgage - SO much easier now I've set them up as a payee on the banking app! Planning to just drip little bits across as and when I can from now on I think, let's see what a difference that makes.

SC! You certainly might have prompted some more frugal behaviour from me, which quite frankly is no bad thing. I was quite shocked at seeing the day to day reality of my frugality back then. And now I'm reading my next diary, after I'd started working full time, and I'm busy being quite shocked at how very quickly all the little frittering crept in...
Anyway. The sun is shining today! And I'm off to my old stomping ground city to meet a friend for a walk and a picnic It's a 60 mile round trip so I'm not sure you can call it frugal but I'm taking the leftover frittata for lunch, and some snacks that I've already made, so at least we won't need to buy food. And a walk is frugal, right?! I will need to fill the car up while I'm there, but there's enough in the diesel pot to account for that, and we shouldn't need to fill either car up after this for the rest of the month.
Tried ringing the garage about the MOT for the old car, but they're not answering. Looks like the only day I can go without moving stuff around is Thursday anyway, so should be fine if I ring on Monday morning.
Right, I've got a spare few minutes so might try ringing the LPG people...
