Supermarkets seem to vary a lot in how they deal with substitutions.
Waitrose's substitutions, if more expensive, they'll give them to you for no extra charge.
Also, if there is a faulty or damaged item, they'll re-credit your credit card.
Yesterday, I had a Sainsbury delivery, and one item was damaged to the point of being unusable. They said that they could only give me a voucher for the value of the item, not a refund, as they were working from home and so couldn't deal with credit card refunds. I found that a bit annoying, tbh, as it was damaged and unusable, not something I just didn't want.

Thanks Pyxis. I can report back after our Mr M delivery - no need for almond milk substitution as they just sent the ones we ordered (must have found a few down the back of the sofa
), but aubergine and coffee they didn't bother substituting at all. Aubergine I understand, but there must have been a different type of coffee, surely? Will check I didn't tick the 'no substitutions' box.
Also one of my pots of yogurt had exploded all over the carrier bag - but we carried it all straight into the house without checking and didn't notice til he'd gone... I'll put that one down to experience - it only cost about 45p I think and we salvaged more than half of it.
Of course, we realised that because I was thinking of it as a storecupboard top up, we hadn't ordered anything normal like onions or mushroomsSo we're going to have to go to a damn shop tomorrow anyway!
They did send us a free gingerbreadman dressed in a Morrisons uniform though8 -
Oops, forgot to update goals!
HOME
* Er... nothing again today (I was going to start on the ceiling but the sun came out!)
GARDEN AND LAND
* raked all cut hay off into a giant pile
* pruned the bush outside the front door - postie was having to basically hack his way through a jungle to get up the steps
MONEY
* Banks and YNAB
* Set up mortgage as payee on banking app and transferred £22.75
Not too bad. Weather tomorrow is looking decidedly more ropey so I'm planning a couple of trips to the tip, a load of batch cooking, and some kitchen ceiling painting!

You should be able to log on to your account and request a refund for the yoghurt - it’s not experience, it’s bad packing on their part and you should be able to expect to receive your shopping intact 😊

I'm more tempted to request a new gingerbreadman - Mr Cheery spotted a mouse nibbling ours late last night
Well I was planning a couple of trips to the tip this morning but the sun is shining!! Not complaining, but I'm going to get out and do a bit of scything, and do a tip trip later when it's rainy (possibly combined with a cafe trip, yay!)9 -
😮 to the mouse eating your Morrisons man!
And probably a good job they didn't try to substitute the aubergine, given what it's meant to represent when used as an emoji 😮😮😮Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

you lot!
I must confess I have never happened upon, er, an 'appendage' that looked remotely like an aubergine, and if I did, I would likely advise the owner to consult a doctor forthwith!
I'm not entirely sure what the scything is doing for my fitness if I'm honest ElmoR! In one sense, yes - I would think it's good for waist definition if nothing else!In another sense, it's wearing me out and giving me a rather sore elbow... I did promise myself if I hadn't finished by the end of August I'd hire a mechanical scythe for a day... I've been thinking about the pros and cons of that this morning - the main downside seems to be that I wouldn't have done it all by hand which I told everyone I would do
but it's taking much of my physical energy at the minute, and there are loads of other jobs that need doing so...
Anyway, we've had a nice leisurely start this morning with a trip to the cafe (and TWO drinks each) I did do one strip of scything before we left though, and started mixing the ingredients to make granola - needs to go in the oven now though (in two, possibly three, batches, as the oven is super tiny
). Will also try to cook some other (non-oven) stuff while that's going on.
Cup of tea first though, and staring out the window at our new view
