Right, I'm feeling like today needs a list! Not necessarily in this order...
CHEERFUL THINGS
* preparing for video call
* video call with pal
* cafe with Mr Che
* start knitting next sock
* write another letter
HOUSE THINGS
* put washing away
* sort out tip that is the bedroom
* washing up
* More DIY!
LIFE ADMIN
* order chicken food and bedding
* wrap present for friend ready to post
* see if I can get tickets to National Trust place next week
* banks/YNAB
* order document for printing
OTHER THINGS
* fix at least one bike (preferably both)
* find mask or make new one
Hmm, I thought there was way more than that7 -
I think “more DIY” probably covers quite a lot!8

I don't know how that emoji got into Mr Cheery's name!
He is pretty much a cigar-smoking revolutionary though
(in a non-cigar smoking kind of way)
Some progress made - video call done, booked onto National Trust place for Monday, remembered I need to order a document for printing (but haven't actually done it yet) and also remembered I need to find my mask, which went missing the other day, possibly fallen out of the bag in the car or something. Might just make a new one, seems more interesting than looking for the other one and a spare wouldn't go amiss!10 -
Wow Cheery, you seem to be fitting a lot into your time off! Today's list alone leaves me feeling exhausted!
The plastering prep looks great - I'm sure you'll be flying now you've started and worked out the method. It will look wonderful when it's done. (Loving your blog by the way)
Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Ok, some progress made. Mask found, tidied my mess out of the living room, and did all the washing up and cleaned the temporary kitchen. Then I got quite grumpy (oh dear!!) and Mr Cheery suggested I go and visit a friend... 😂 Had lunch in a cafe with my local ish pal and feel SO much better for it. She's off work next week too so we're planning a little trip to the gardens at Chatsworth. Nice to have something to look forward to!
Also had an idea - I'm going to tidy up my study a bit and sweep the chimney, that way I can light and fire and sit in there to watch a film and do my knitting. Was being annoyed about the bad weather but I think I need to embrace the coziness.
Finished in the cafe with my friend now, and Mr Cheery's just rummaging round to find a tool I need for the next bit of ceiling work - we've got one somewhere but I couldn't find it. He's searching the garage, but if he can't find it I'll do a detour via B&Q. Bit wasteful but it's only a fiver, and it won't do any harm to have two if we do find the other one...10 -
Well, Mr Cheery found the rasp, so £5 saved there - but now we can't find the car keys...
For goodness sake! We (stupidly) only have one set for each car, and it looks like this set might have gone out with the recycling...
Managed to find someone who might be able to replace them tomorrow, but Tuesday at the latest - a replacement AND a (much-needed) spare for £256, which I think isn't bad given the circumstances... Of course the old ones will probably turn up as soon as he's replaced them.
I'd happily wait til Tuesday, but I went out in the other car this afternoon and it's started behaving oddly again so I'd rather not go too far in it. Meant to be meeting a friend tomorrow afternoon, and I've booked to go to this National Trust place tomorrow, so it would be nice to have the working car back.
Best ring the garage to sort out the other one at some point next week.
YAWN.
Oh well. At least I tidied up a bit while looking for them
