Baileys_Babe said:My sister has only had 1 key for her car for years, brings me out in a cold sweat just thinking about it 🤣
Of course it's just dawned on me that there were house keys on the car keys too, so now we only have one set of those too...
Nice key man is coming at 10am tomorrow, thank goodness! 🙄

And now we're having a power shortage. Not a full on power cut, the TV is still working 🙄 but the microwave is going REALLY slowly, as is the kettle, and the induction hob can only manage a couple of minutes before giving up.
Given that I'd just come inside to cook my tea, I'm not best pleased. Still, looks like someone in the nearby village has reported and we should be back up and running properly by 10pm 🙄 Not surprising really seeing how windy it is.
Cereal for tea then... and then I might just go to bed and give up on today altogether!!

How frustrating, do you have a camping stove you could heat you dinner up on?Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

It was weird, lights were flickering and everything! We've been cooking outside a lot so that was an option, but I couldn't be bothered 😂 cereal it was, and half-prepared tea is in the fridge for lunch today.
Got a nice day planned today! Key geezer is coming at 10, then maybe yesterday's postponed cafe trip with Mr Cheery, then meeting a couple of friends this afternoon, then another friend is camping tonight.
Also need to tick off everything that I didn't tick off the list yesterday!8 -
Key magician has been
and I got him to do a spare for the other car two, so we now have two keys for both. Also asked him to cut a set of house keys - he didn't have a blank for one of them, but cut the other one for me. I went to try it - and it turns out it's not even the door key
This is a spare set we got from a neighbour when we moved in, and I THOUGHT I'd tried it but clearly not
The back door key works, and that's the only one we use - but we now have TWO keys for... what? I have no idea
So £280 in total which quite frankly I think is a bargain for someone coming to your house, magicking up a key where there wasn't one, and cutting two spare car keys and a spare (not) house key. I've even written them a review, which I don't usually tend to do.
Right, what else was on that list for today?!

Ooh, I wonder what the mystery key is for? You don't have a secret ice house you've not discovered yet or something....? That reminds me of when my parents got a new lock on their front door and gave me a new key, which I promptly switched with the old key so I wouldn't get mixed up and they threw it away.... Fast forward to a few days later when my BF is at work and I'm trying to get into his house and realise that's the one I've thrown away 🙄 As both he and his son had recently lost their keys and I had been very disparaging, it was a bit of a humiliating climb-down - but at least I knew where mine had gone!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Ha ,SC, I suspect the mystery key stems from just the situation you describe - I'd forgotten that we fitted a new lock on the front door not long after we moved in (no idea why, as we didn't change the lock on the back door, which is the one we use all the time). Met some neighbours several months later and they gave us the spare set they had for our house - and I just didn' click that we'd changed the lock so (obviously) they key wouldn't work...
It does mean there should be another set of keys knocking about somewhere though - we had two sets when we moved in, and were then given this spare... we've thrown one set away, but where did the other set go?!10 -
Ah cheery! Your key problem reminded me of when I dropped my down a drain!!!! The most frustrating thing in the world. I could see them I just couldn’t get them!!! I love the sound of the sock knitting, have you a pattern (I nearly typed recipe 🤦🏻♀️). I hope you have a cheery day!10

Wow! Loving the kitchen work. I'm similarly in a muddle about keys, and have been for ages - cue an overnight stay with a friend, then getting back to my own town to meet the locksmith at 9am - even after that, I haven't quite sorted it out. Important to enjoy your holibob now, though, I'm sure
