Morning chums.
Not much MSE to report this week. Had a lovely weekend pottering around in the garden in the sunshine - got my compost bin finished and painted with wood preserver, and while I had the paintbrush I also redid the benches and table, and part of the chicken run that was looking a bit flaky. And I finally made a proper start on rebuilding my field wall! Lots of that to do in the coming weeks.
We took Mildred to the vets this morning. She's been poorly all week, they said on the phone the other day they didn't think there was anything they could do but I just wanted to make sure we weren't missing anything. We're not - it's likely a heart problem and all we can do is keep her fed and away from stress. She's out in the sunshine with the others for now, and we've been bringing her and Maud inside for afternoon naps so we'll continue to do that. Bless her. I confess I had a bit of a cry this morning
In financial news, well, there isn't really any... The Post Office has reduced our savings account (which I think was previously about 1.4%) to 0.49% (must check). Not much we can do about that - we've got £1000 a month filtering over to our regular savers at 2.5% which is better than nothing! Donated what I would have spent on commuting in the last month to the food bank. Not really anything else to say.
As we were leaving for the vets, the gas tanker turned up to fill the LPG tank. Not needed right now (I checked last night oddly enough and it was at 45%) but they have a general policy of topping you up whenever they're in the area delivering to someone else which I think is a sensible plan! This'll likely last us at least 4 months now I reckon with the warmer weather - by which time our 2 year contract will be up and we'll be able to look for someone else.
Right - work!10
