Can I add to Greenbees great list Bohemian Rhapsody, First Man, Hidden Figures, A Royal Night Out, Crazy Rich Asians and Blinded by the Light7

Thank you Greenbee & Tescodealqueen for the recommendations, we have watched a few of them, a few I was aware of, the rest I had no knowledge of. I always appreciate a recommendation.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Definitely Hidden Figures (goes nicely with On The Basis of Sex!).

Agree about Blinded by the Light and Hidden Figures (which goes nicely with The Help and First Man). Loved Yesterday too.

Oh good grief, I'm never going to get anything done with this giant list of films to watch!
Not much MSE to report today. Went to the cafe for breakfast, got Mr Cheery to leave me there working while he nipped into town which worked much better for me as I got quite a bit done - but then the cafe got busy, I couldn't sit there nursing my second cuppa forever, so I wandered round the bookshop while I waited for him to come back - and spent £9 in the clearance section, aarrgghh! It's very unusual for me to buy new books, but my excuse is these were cheaper than a charity shop, so....
Still, it's not a good attitude!!
Had an email from the breakdown cover people - that needs renewing on 5th March so yet more expense. And my diploma tutor emailed to say that because my portfolio had to be reassessed in January I owed her another £75 (I'm sure we discussed this at the time but she never sent an invoice so I'd forgotten). Sadly it's had to be reassessed AGAIN at the second stage, so that's probably a load more I'll owe someone else, gah!
Hey ho. Payday today, but also first round of strike deductions so I'm £290 down (they're spreading it over several months - doesn't make much difference to us but I think those living month to month are quite grateful).
Need to have a look at the matched betting accounts - there's quite a bit of dosh spread across various betting shops so I'm going to gather it all back in and get it into the savings account.
No sign of pension letter yet sadly, maybe tomorrow... At least we have passports etc all copied now and ready to send straight back!7 -
On the plus side I'm having a pretty productive work day, Beaky is showing some signs of improvement (although we're still keeping her in for tonight - tried booting her out for an hour earlier and she just stood in the porch by herself all fluffed up so she's back inside in the warm), and I FINALLY got round to putting on the load of washing that I've been meaning to put on for a fortnight so all good!7

You’re sounding a bit cheerier Cheery. That’s good about Beaky, hope another night in sees her fully recovered.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Glad Beaky is ok Cheery, that's good to know. The trouble with our feathered friends is that they play on our emotions. You look at them one minute and they appear fine walking around the house as if they own the place BUT as soon as you open the door to the outside world they just stand there all huddled up looking up at you with feathers fluffed as if to say "you joking or what, I'm not well you know, so could you please shut that door there is a draft coming in". Funny little creatures they are!

Morning MSE chums
Well the weather is vile again here, and all the chickens are tucked up in the porch. They are funny. They follow me down to the house when I let them out - I've given them some porridge this morning, which they've (mostly) eaten, but then they just went and stood in the porch. It's tiny in there, there's barely room for all five of them, and obviously nothing to do, but they just stand in there out of the rain. They could go back up to their own run of course, which is far more spacious and comfortable! But it's not so easy to spot us and demand treats from up there...
Anyway, Beaky is still not right, and has been in overnight for the last 4 or 5 nights I think, but this morning she seemed a little brighter, and seemed desperate to come out of the door with me first thing. As long as she's hanging round with the others in the porch, I'll leave her out there. She's still not right though, and I'm going to keep the vets appointment I booked for her this morning just to get her checked over. Worrisome little things.
First day of the strike today. I've decided my focus for the time I have off is going to be longer term career progression, so thinking beyond the day job to what I can do for my longer term career (not necessarily even in this job!) Planning to put aside 2 or 3 hours a day for that. Partly it feels like cheating (does it count as 'work'??) but partly I think I'm not getting paid, longer term career development stuff is something I've often tried to do outside of normal jobs I've had anyway, going on courses etc to learn new skills so I can move on, so that's how I'm treating it.
Lots of other things planned too mind you - today Beaky is going to the vets (Decidedly NOT cheerful, and probably not MSE), I'm having lunch with a friend, and one of Mr Cheery's friends is coming to stay over so I'll be collecting her from the bus later this afternoon. All good. Best get on with future planning in the meantime! Hmm - need to think of something exciting to call it I think...9
