I'm afraid a sub is still a lot of calories. Less but still a lot. I'm not totally sure why you can't make a, say, tuna salad sandwich at home, just limit yourself to two slices of granary etc and lots of filling of the vegetable kind. No sauces like on a sub. Google healthy eating and compose a healthy eating menu for yourself. Might even distract you from what other people are doing.I remember being on placement in the community (I am a diabetic on insulin) and coming across one lady saying she ate two slices of bread for breakfast. What she meant was a whole soda bread sliced in half, or about half a loaf of bread at once. No wonder her blood sugars were high (she was diabetic) lol. I could never eat a foot long without major blood sugar problems because its just too much. Even a six inch would be a problem without major exercise or insulin increase. You need to train yourself to eat smaller amounts of food you love and enjoy, so its stimulating but is healthy. I've been a bit miserable and having problems with low blood sugars so put on a bit of weight myself. Now I'm cutting back a bit so will lose the weight I have gained and exercising more. And I gain this feeling of control and positive feelings about it that I don't have when I just leave it.
Did anything happen with the suggestions on another thread about finding housing that's more suitable, like an over 55 project or something? Perhaps the social worker will help. I know my son could get into supported housing.
The gym suggestion is a good one too. As is walking. I do it even though I have asthma and arthritis. Its not dependent on anyone, just you, and usually you can find somewhere where you won't have to see too many people but feel revitalised. it makes you feel more in control. Because in the past you have been driving yourself too hard at the gym, it doesn't make it inevitable that you will do that again. Just set a stop watch at half an hour and stop. You can. Then it becomes a benefit rather than something that makes you feel hyper and you can't sleep. Or find something that is exercise and raises your pulse rate/increases metabolism but is not so demanding like walking on a street. Less likely to make you hyper.
I know I won't be in a relationship again in my life. Its something I just accept and understand why. Relationships have cons as well as pros and I quite like my singleton life.
I am afraid with young people like that, just making the comments you did, they KNEW they had got to you. If you'd ignored them, you'd have won and not let them press your buttons. Any reaction feeds them. I mean, for goodness sake, they are still kids., why react?0
