I'm with orange for mobile and broadband.
I am currently switching to PAID FOR broadband to PLUSNET (I had them previously when they were metronet)
Orange broadband have exceptionally POOR customer service; India call centres
I would prefer to go to the dentist and not have anasthetic rather than have broadband with orange again
The call centres don't have a clue (virgin are cable and do NOT use BT lines, so broadband internet from orange from virgin is not likely)
It has never more apt to say you get what you pay for.baldly going on...0 -
We are thinking of getting Virgin TV, which needs a virgin phone line.. So could we use orange broadband with a virgin telephone line instead od BT?
No ... it has to be a BT line, with all their bundled packages. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

Not true! Virgin do supply ADSL over BT lines. See here. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
My livebox telephone number is 0203 which is correct for London. I've just looked at my account and it's easy enough to change. There are 16 major cities at the moment with more to be added. 0845 is the default. You can change 3 times then it costs you £10 each time. So you could change to the nearest.0

thanks - I have moved over from my old Orange broadband 2Meg monthly limit, 1 Meg bandwidth which was costing £14.99 monthly and now get unlimited monthly downloads and 2.5 Meg bandwidth, livebox, 2nd line and home phone for £24. The livebox phone no is 0141 prefix (which I requested at sign-up). Switchover of the home phone from BT to Orange has worked fine too. All the discussions on which broadband provider have to take account of where you are - Talk Talk, Virgin and Sky were all out for me as I don't live in their main areas and they can only offer me expensive options.0

dont touch orange with a bargepole my mac code came through today...ill never give them money for anything again...mobile net or other!0

Orange keep calling me to offer me free broadband as i have a mobile contract with them. I would rather pay £18 to someone else for broadband as in all honesty orange customer service is appauling. i dont carewhat they offer me when my phone contract runs out, i want nothing to do with them and would suggest anybody tempted by their broadband offers does a bit of research on the net, there seems to be an army of people complaining about them0

My mail to the CEO was as follows:- (olaf@swantee@orange.co.uk)
I had the misfortune to lose broadband service for about 3 days. I phoned customer services on Christmas eve starting at 15.21 GMT. After 90 minutes of pure frustration, I turned off my computer and broadband connection. Your staff have not only lied to me they also blamed 2 completely innocent other companies. Please get someone at your company to read the logged calls from me starting at 15.21. on Xmas eve. I have posted the following mail to various sites. If you bother to listen to the phone conversations I had you will find that I have actually been rather lenient. Your supervisor AJID knew full well that I would never be able to speak to him when I phoned back once he had sent me on the second wild goose chase, this time blaming Easynet. I would like a response to this mail with the MAC number I require to set up broadband with a proper ISP that values it long serving customers. I will naturally tell anyone who is interested what an appalling service I received. I am also complaining to OFCOM and the ISP regulators.
Posted mails as follows:-
"Lied constantly. I had no service for 3 days and they told me to phone and complain to SKY as they had placed a "TAG ON THE LINE" AND HAD ATTEMPTED TO TO TAKE OVER THE LINE ILLEGALLY. Complete rubbish as it turned out once I spoke to Sky.Got a different customer advisor (NATURALLY) who again deferred to technicial who this time said it was Easynet illegally tagging my line. This was a complete lie again, as spoke to very helpful chap at Easynet who provided me with the BT number to phone to check if TAG on line. Why couldn't Orange have done that?!. BT stated there was no tag on the line.
Anyway went on like this for 90 mins, also spoke to a supervisor who knew full well I would never get to speak to him again, despite saying I could phone back and speak with him,as my head was about to explode with the sheer unadulteraded incompetence and dishonesty of this bunch of muppets, and gave up and turned off all kit until Boxing day, when hey presto I have a connection. Sorry, but imcompetence is one thing, lying and blaming other companies and insisting it is the customer's responsibility to contact companies which have done nothing wrong is completely unacceptable. Now going to request MAC and move elsewhere. What a complete bunch of liars. I hope Sky and Easynet complain about their tactics. I would rather have no internet than pay Orange another penny. May have some problems getting a MACand leaving Orange behind, but determined to do so are appaling and dishonest service from their staff. I have been a customer for about 5 years and deserve better than this. Reading other posts about Orange Broadband service customers are leaving in droves."
PS- Please don't attempt to phone me as I have no intention of speaking to your staff ever again, except if you do not provide me with a MAC number in your reply. I can't wait for the day Orange goes bust!0 -
Hi,
I understand how frustrating being messed around by companies can be, i feel that orangeproblems.co.uk is a very biased website! If i set up a tescoisrubbish.co.uk website (if there isnt one already) i am sure i would receive equal amounts of hits, but it wont stop people from shopping there!
anyway back to the point - before i moved house in May i had countless "PPP server down" problems and was getting very tired of Orange/Wanadoo BB CS and the BB service. Since i have moved (different exchange) i have not had one incident of this or any other problem (famous last words)! I have, this morning, signed myself into another 12 months of BB from Orange, where they have offered me an excellent package of £12.99 a month on an 8mb plan (assumingly 2gb d/l) with a brand new woreless router. This came about as i was going to leave and move to BT BB but even with there offer of £8.95 for 6 months on an 18 month plan, this still works out cheaper.
When i enquired to BT for BB service they couldnt even tell me what speed i would be getting and i was passed on to about 10 departments! I think whatever company you go with you will always have problems of some nature! How i understand this is that BT are the worst culprits (coupled with family experience). I agree with what someone else had written earlier, do some research before purchasing and make the right choice for you.0 -
Could someone please point me in the right direction for finding the 30 international countries that I can dial to free through the Livebox? TIA.0
