Yep, very motivated at the thoughts of the toilet I'm using crashing through a rotten floor, and windows breaking because I try to open them! Very scary!

I saw this and thought of you. ()

Hi KC, welcome back and glad your holiday seems to have been a good rest for you :) All the house stuff sounds hard work but am sure it'll be well worth it once it's done, makes such a difference when your surroundings are nice!

    Enjoy the weekend xx

    Hi everyone!!!

Thanks for the posts! I *am* busy, again, its true, tho lots of the improvements to the house are being done by the builder, of course - I just stand there and nod approvingly. With the work so far, I've only made one cup of tea for them, they turned the rest down - thats got to be a record, right there.

I agree that work on the house is an investment in the self - I feel *so* much better about things now, and I know that when I'm through the work scheduled for the next 3 weeks, it'll be even better still. And if crashing through the floor can happen to a father and daughter, it could happen to me!!! Thanks Z!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Chortling all over again here.

One thing I *have* to do, tho, is that when I do a m.b. offer, I must write down what the standard T&C are - I got a little reload offer from pa rtybets, and I'm sure I've just wasted it by doing the qualifier below the qualifying odds. Since it was £8, its not like I've wasted £100, but still, you get regular reloads from pb, it would be worth knowing even for them, as well as for everyone else.

Right, enough rabbiting from me. I'm off to the local market for veggies before they run out. Bye for now

    xx

Morning all, posters and lurkers! Good veggie haul yesterday - 2 caulis for £1, that sort of thing, got stuff that freezable (only a tiny wee freezer, but since I've got it, might as well use it).

And I struggled and struggled to work out exactly what the costs and earnings were of my m.b. efforts yesterday. As far as I can work out, I'm 60% of the way through the qualifying basket for the 2nd big free bet at b365, and at pb I've done the qualifying for the £8 free bet with a loss of £2.30. If I'm careful, I'll make a profit of about £5, instead of breaking even or even making a loss - pleased about that, I really did think I'd completely wasted it.

Today, I'm going to be doing house-maintenancey type things - using some vinyl scraps that were in the garage, making sure my computer thats to be recycled doesn't have anything confidential on, stacking the books back onto the bookcase that I've moved (uh, when I've moved it!) that kind of thing. And then I'm going out to play!

Hope everyone else gets out to play too!

Z, by the way, I was thinking of you while I was in Germany, cos I wasn't in Germany all the time, I was in the Dutch mountains, my friend took me to Maastricht for the day, on a city bus. It was lovely - and coming from Liverpool the Stella Maris church was especially beautiful. And the one thats been converted into a triple height bookstore, that was gorgeous....

Have a good day - I'm off to see a client shortly, but then need to do some housey stuff too.

    Enjoy!

I don't envy you seeing a client on a Bank Hol Monday - hope it swells the coffers really well.

    Afternoon KC and all
The "Daunting But Do-able" challange hasn't quite taken shape yet. It sounded good though-just need to decide what it is :)
Think I'll bake some scones whilst I think-and some banana bread (made a banana and chocolate chip loaf yesterday but think it's better <gasp> without the chocolate !!)

Thanks, Duchy - I do like the sound of that, tho I'm terrible at keeping up with more than one challenge at a time. Banana bread.... chocolate... its all good. But how can anything be better *without* chocolate???? :)

Phew, I had a stay at home day after all, and its positively *sultry* down here!

Haven't got to grips with Asian betting/dutching, whatever its called - heeellllpppp! - but spent ages out on the patio sweeping and getting weeds out of the way - very necessary, cos the builders will be round there soon, replacing the windows, and if they're in and out of the house with that amount of dirt on their boots, even my vinyl will never be clean again. Ended up doing it quite gingerly - there's a *massive* garden spider out there, where it has every right to be, but I *really* didn't want to sweep it up by mistake and have it start crawling onto my hand. Okay, I'm gonna shut up now.

Am also wiping and reformatting my old computer, so I can offer it on freecycle - don't think anyone will want it, but even if its going to be binned, it still has to be blank. Its just sitting there, whirring.

Did manage to move the bookcase and put most of the books back, but there's a lot of fiddling required still - thats okay, I quite enjoy that sort of fiddling.

Haven't done anything with the vinyl scraps. Ah well.

I don't have any work on Thursday, so I'm going out to play then instead of today. This has been good, and now I'm going to *stop* and have a glass of cava. See you tomorrow, folks.
