Yep, thats what they say - if it goes wrong, your exposure is less if you do the bookie first, than if you lay first. You *did* get that right, so its not mega, and its certainly recoverable from. Keep going!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I have plans, but sometimes I don't do them, hi ho. Good intentions, they must mean something, I suppose - would have been better for me if I'd been on hypno's thread last night muttering about iron-wielding skateboarders....
Today - I'm checking out rail journeys in June, a la Martin, and I'm going to be pitching up in Norwich - hopefully will get to meet hypno and pania, if only for a cuppa tea. I really truly have three sets of relations who live in Norwich, plus a buddy who lives just outside, *somebody* from all that lot is going to be free to see me....
Otherwise today, lots of bits and bobs, continuing things I've already prattled about, so I won't go on - I may force myself to list a post of what I *have* managed to do this evening.
Hope everyone has a good day.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I've finally done something useful on the computer again! :rotfl: Booked several train tickets, from home to see my mum, straight from there to Northampton to see TWTID (The Wonder That Is Daniel, i.e. his actor, Michael Shanks) then straight from there to Norwich, to see anyone who agrees to see me!! Haven't booked the trip back home yet, as that final bit needs a lot of work. Dead chuffed. Total cost of all four legs: £67.50, by train! I don't think thats too bad - didn't go through Quidco to get cashback, tho, because the trainline charge nowadays for every method of getting the tickets to you (even fast ticket, where you print them out at the station, what a cheek) - so I'm fairly sure its cheaper to go straight to the train company.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

well done on the trains. Pretty good for this time in the morning!
hope the rest of the day goes as well. Keep going and don't be hard on yourself.0 -
Thanks Mizmir! I am a bit hard on myself, I know, tend to overplan and then think I should have managed to do it all. Busted!
How did your bet thing go last night? Just off to your thread, or post on here.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Overplanning - oh yes I know it well! Set impossible goals then beat yourself when you don't achieve them. Why do we do it to ourselves...??
Team lost sadly so am £39 the poorer but finally sorted out my work expenses to find they owe me over 500 quid! So felt a bit better!0 -
Been ignoring my own thread in favour of other stuff - glad to find that at least your expenses can be got back a lot sooner.
As for me, I'm just off to see some local gardens, and am v proud of myself - managed to get 2 bees out of the house in the last 2 days with no problems (cup and piece of paper, the old ways are the best, y'know).......2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I agree about thetrainline. I did better booking direct with National Express East Coast (It is a train honest !!)for my trip to Glasgow by miles than thetrainline's prices even ignoring cashback and fees. And just realised the Kings X Glasgow train has free Wi-Fi too-Woo-Hoo.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I'm glad someone else did the same thing as me - and you're pretty savvy on the travel front, I know, Duchy! Just read on Hypno's thread about your £200 on the eurobet thingy!!!! Fantastic! Well done - I made a decision to stay out of eurobet at the mo, I want to open my account there in euros, but I'm still squirming internally at the thought of all that money going begging. Mind you, I didn't do the sky "are you smarter" thing, which I could have - I'd joined on purpose to play it, without funding the account, but just... didn't. Hey ho.
Today, I'm keeping an ear out for building type stuff. My neighbour has parked as near to the property line as he could, to protect his property (what from? my neighbours on both sides are definitely in the running for the "most un-neighbourly" award. More hey ho, I suppose.
Onward and upward, as Buzz would say (or something like that!).2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
yes - love the free wifi on national express trains - and agree about the trainline - used to be so good but now just taking the p***. KC - am still unsure about the eurobet thing too - used to be so confident about going for all these but now much more cautious - not sure why. But really have to get back into it - last summer I made around £2K matched betting - won't get to that again as have done so many but at least I can make a little.
Have a good day everyone.0
