Same here - but good luck!
I like the Coolidge quote - "persistence and determination" - can see me chanting that :rotfl: Must try and see the squirrels sometime, it sounds lovely!
You seem to be making good progress with the house and sound very organised with your plans for your French mortgage etcDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Chasing a m.b. qualifier. Grumbler says a match of 1.55/1.57 isn't particularly good between b365 and bf... Bleep. Bleepity bleep. I'll keep looking for today.
Maybe not the best you can get but weigh up the extra few pence against the time you will spend searching for the better ones..... When I started MB last year I spent literally hours tracking through obscure football leagues to get the best matches (and arbs) - especially as everyone on the board went on about 80%+ returns on SNR and 95% returns on SR. These days I haven't the time or patience - if I find one good enough I'll go for it. Make a little less but it is all profit (except when the markets close before you place your matched bet....). Just a thought. Depends how much you enjoy the challenge I think!

Hi folks! :j
Seaxwyn - thanks, I know it sounds very techy, and I've just started trying to get to the next level (dutching and arbing) which are just as difficult to me, so I know what you mean - thanks for the good wishes, tho, I hope your starting work is getting easier.
Redsquirrel - I *am* organised- but do I
carry out the organisation? I do not. I guess what mizmir said about being good enough on seaxwyn’s thread will have to be good enough for me!
mizmir – I know, I know! I only do the big international competitions, the English top couple of leagues, the Scottish Premier, and the Spanish Primera (cos I like em!). But hunting up half time full time, over/under etc takes time, even so. I did find a 2.1/2.1 in about 6 or 7 mins after I started searching again. Fair enough! Had to underlay by 22p – it was a bit dodgy, I needed £51.22 liquidity and there was literally £51, if it had been a busy day/time of day, I’d have been snookered. Ah well, I wasn’t, but it does make you think.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Gulp. My diary has taken a real left turn recently, with all this building work going on. Left turn has just become sharper: not only are the gutters shot, the soakaway is blocked. And the soffits at the back are made of asbestos - they can be covered, apparently, don't have to be replaced (neighbours have done that, you can see it. Thats quite a bit more money. I'm going to have to really get stuck in to the m.b.ing like there's no tomorrow, but I can't not do this work. One thing tho, I'm going to be more careful about upkeep in future - keeping things clearer of debris will help, inside and out!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

 Oh dear. That is a bit of a blow - but you are right - can't not be done. But is a timely warning - we have a blocked outside drain and have just been ignoring it. Guess we had better get someone in before it gets worse.
Good luck raising the money. Am sure the MB will come in handy (and in this situation the extra time finding close matches and arbs is worth the effort - every little helps!)0 -
Oh bad luck karmacat. These kind of things are such a blow when you don't have spare cash. Hope you do well on the matched betting. Can you ebay any of the stuff you are clearing out to raise a bit more? You mentioned sci-fi memorabilia, surely there are plenty of buyers for that?
Hope work is going well. Give me a bell if you ever want to stop off at Redhill for a glass of wine on your way home.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Thanks all!
I've just filled a big black plastic bag with debris - there's more, but I want to give the last few woodlice a chance to find their way to the garden (as opposed to the patio). I thought I'd give amazon a miss from now on and concentrate on the m.b.ing, but you're right, everyone, every little helps. The only memorabilia I've actually sold is an autographed comic (4 autographs from Babylon 5 actors), which I realised as I was posting off I could have got ten times the price for - non-autographed copies were on at £98, and I sold mine for £20! I'll look at selling the comics somewhere, actually, I only bought them cos I got sucked in to the collecting thing (and I had more money than sense!).
The cost - well, I've raised a thousand from various moneymaking activities (half of that from bingo and m.b.), I still have a thousand that my mum gave me, so thats about three grand from savings - and a grand of that is VAT and the extra work that really needs doing. It *is* a warning, isn't it - I always thought people who were sweeping their yards had nothing better to do, and now I find they're very wise. Its a bit late at my age, but you know what they say...
Redhill, Seaxwyn - if I finish at 7pm one Friday, I will - but usually, I get the train that leaves London Bridge at ten past ten - we'd have to go to a nightclub  now there's a thought.....2023: the year I get to buy a car0
