Nothing at all! I feel quite cheated. I'm waiting for a reasonable time of day to ring my mum, as there have been reports people round her felt it.

The matched betting fear..... I checked my first deals on the newbie questions thread, and did it for matches that were quite a few days ahead, and went back to the bookies and betfair to check that I'd done it right, that everything had "taken", if you know what I mean. That meant I had quite a few days to fix any problems that I'd created. Doing it in a hurry, or half an hour before the match, is bound to create problems for a newbie, or it would for me.

Good idea, thanks, I will do that. I've signed up to my first (well, second, but someone :A talked me through the very first one) bookie, but they need some proof of ID (I must look dodgy) before I can deposit, so I've been putting it off.....lol. :o

Karmacat you sounds just like me with the MB, it takes ages to get your head around it and still it is a worry if you have got it right or not. The people on the MB Board are quite nice to help aren't they? As long as you don't ask any obvious questions or start a new thread. I have just placed a £50 SNR one at 11/11 that is so huge it is scary but I get a £46 return which I am happy with.

Well done on your efforts to clear your debts and your mortgage.

    Morning KC and all
Was talking about this thread yesterday with Pania and how MB needs more study from me. Really glad it's going well for those who've got their heads around it.
One day I WILL "get it"

Snaggles - good for you, take your time - don't "chase" the matches, one will be along.

Tallgirl - welcome! They are good over there - I can't believe how much time they're willing to give to newbies' constant questions. Your m.b. sounds huge! I had to open up the matcher - nice one! Thanks for your support - I'm dying to be debt free, just have to keep focussing.

Duchy - hi there! It is going well, I am making profits from it - I'm sure I'd get a telling off for not making as good % profit as I'm supposed to, and in a way I feel quite guilty, but then I realise quite how much money I've made, and I don't care any more! I'm very happy with the return of 65-70% or so, it adds up since 6 January to almost £200. Okay, the bingo gives us that, but we can go on and on with the m.b.ing. You're good with figures, pretty calm, I'm sure you could do it if you focussed - especially if you took your time, as I mentioned to Snaggles a few posts earlier.

But only do it when *you're* ready. I've already had the odds change under me, had not enough available when I layed, little bits of things. Bit lucky :o

Right, off now - tv licence to pay by the end of Feb

    Have a good day, all.

You're spot on KC I was actually saying to do it I need the house to be absolutely tidy and various niggly things out of the way so I can fully focus on it.

Good for you, Duchy! I'd never personally say "absolutely tidy" to do it, cos it would never get done... but thats what I mean, see, you're organised! I'm going to do my next one starting tomorrow, for a weekend match. Got a lot of work on, so it'll be first thing in the morning.

I think I see the house as symbolic of my life-ie at the moment it's full of clutter and I'm very gradually clearing that clutter-which includes debt, things that are of detriment to my life, attitudes in the paralell that is my life.................sorry if that sounds pretentious can't think how else to phrase it.

Duchy - it doesn't sound pretentious at all, we're all like that really, its just that some of us know it! All this decluttering that I've been doing, for instance - I realised that all that stuff, those papers and that knowledge, was keeping me "safe" - it was actually keeping me stuck. As I free up the space, it literally is liberating - less to look after, less to take with me when I move, less to store if I go travelling - just like being debt free, it gives me more options.

Sea - hi! I hope I'm floating - I must say, I'm scared about it. My savings are the other thing that keep me safe. But these savings have been made within the last year, specifically to pay off debt, so its crazy not to do it, its what I've been working for.
