    Morning both!

    :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

Well, the headline is true - my blood test results are back, the word "excellent" was used, tho she wants to see me again in 6 weeks because she recognises how bad I felt a fortnight ago.

And the chocolate ... well, cos I gave up wheat and chocolate about ten days ago, we don't know which has had an effect, so I have to start eating one again - and as *I* know how bad wheat is for me, I'm going to eat chocolate! I have a star bar in my bag, the kettle is boiling, all is extremely well with the world :rotfl:

How are you guys? You sound happier too, squizz, and you weren't well either. Bob was dib/dobbing, can't tell how you feel yet, Bob, KP sounds pretty good .... off to look at other posts now while I eat chocolate :D

I started on the next stage of the garden - the part that my nephew worked on last year, to create a place to sit in the shade - there's nowhere else for high summer. And I've started this about three times already. So this time, I did a little area about 4 foot by two as usual, but THEN I put the membrane straight down - I'll have to pick it up each time I dig some more, of course, but its just roughly held down with those bricks at the mo, so thats no problem. I really want that bit done and dusted, and I think this time it might actually happen!:j

Can I ask something silly - why do you put up the membrane and put it back?

Stupid question but can't you instant garden by covering the membrane in gravel/bark and use it this year with some tubs or something - then when you want to add things you can sweep the gravel/bark back to reveal the membrane, then cut it and dig holes where you want things? Repeat as necessary until you get the garden shady loveliness of your dreams.

Then its still a work in progress but it looks kinda done so you can enjoy it this year.

Igrnore me I am blethering - just curious as to what you are up to - old fashioned noisieness I guess - if you were over the fence I would just peer over:rotfl:

In truth I am just jealous that you need a shady area - that must mean it gets 'warm'.

Ah an 'excellent' is good news!

You can have my share of chocolate as I've given it up with the dairy-free thing (apart from the occasional bit of good quality dark choc ;) ). I'm feeling much better thanks, both physically and mentally - the sunshine helps and am making a serious effort to think more positively after a LOT of thinking about how I think about things.. hmm, thinking about thinking?

:o Because I take so long to dig over the whole thing (its about ten feet by ten feet) that by the time I finished, the first bit would need doing again - a Forth Bridge kind of effect :o:o

Cos there are hefty roots underneath, Fay, and when I've gone at it half way like that, the roots either come through or send massive great shoots out to the side. Thats another reason why it never lasts.

I don't want any plants there, either, tbh - just solid barkery or interesting pieces of paving will do me fine. Its shielded not only by a hedge of various sorts, mostly snowberries, thats about ten feet high, plus remnants of leylandii that my neighbour cut down last year, plus buddleia but also a row of cherry trees (they're self seeded, only about two feet apart). Its ***deep*** shade.

Oh what a shame! It does get warm, thats the truth - its a south facing slope on the south coast of England, after all, tho we have a cold-ish (for here) microclimate. My bedroom is too hot to sleep in during some summer nights, for instance. And there are lots of olive trees round here nowadays (too soon to know if they'll bear any fruit tho).

I'm glad you're feeling better, squirrel - sometimes we need to think about how we think, thats kind of what the Pos Thinking course is about :o Not quite so happy with the chocolate now - my stomach was okayish beforehand, but absolutely awful afterwards. It may well be both of them, I'm going to keep a v close eye on it all.

  • I am so jealous - olive trees - warm bedrooms - we have the heating on 10 or so (prob 12) months of the year.

Mumbles about living in England again when I am allowed to and the kids have fled the nest.

TBH jars of olives look grumpy here cos it is so temperate. :)

Ta for telling me it would have taken me ages to find it on your diary!! xx

Awww! But Pepe, you have such a wonderful sig, with that quote about the devils and the angels!

    And here's the updated list:

    - make a list
    - do scratchcards 60p total!
    - withdraw money from laddies after casino thingy went and did it straight away!
    - check online banking. went and did it straight away.
    - go get the results of blood tests a fortnight ago. got. They're fine.
    - use a topup voucher I found for my mobile.
    - enter the gm.tv comp (I happened to be listening when it came on :rotfl: honest) done :o
    - do a bit of meditation.
    - do a bit more in the garden, I think its going to be another nice day.
    - scanning, so I can put those magazines in the recycle bin!
    - put the washing machine on. done, tho it hasn't finished yet.
    - pay Visa done
    - write my bank on the website (nice and cheap, saves a stamp!). done.

Thats only two more - the bloodtest results and the washing machine - so I'm going to go out and do a little bit more - at least I can pull up some of the ivy around the rhubarb. I can do a few minutes meditating (I have a breathing exercise on CD that lasts 3 whole minutes, even I can do that).

Oh my god you couldn't  it would take forever! and heating on 10/12 months of the year :eek::eek: mind you I grew up in Liverpool, before central heating - I remember what it was like to have ice on the inside of the windowpanes occasionally..... I *really* don't want to go back to that.

    :rotfl: grumpy olives.
