my diary seems to have disappeared into internet hell i cant find it i think it got lost with the others when we had the virus problem ...i'm glad in a way as it was getting depressing (i think) i was thinking of starting another one but i dont feel to confident about it just now so will leave it i think ...but i have been reading karma's hypnos and pania's diaries (new ones as well) and they are all very positive and upbeat making new plans and hatching ideas which is a great thing so you never know maybe in the new year ..glad to hear your house is coming on nicely but sorry to hear the health is playing up again

Um I can still get into your diary so it is still there!

    Morning!!!

I'm back to my Scarlett O'Hara impression, tomorrow is another day - and thats today!!! Dragon, we have to really make sure that anywhere we go is crutches friendly, and what about help in carrying stuff, when we do the London meet? Pania - yep, lefty talk is kind of incomprehensible, I know, but there's a lot of passion in that world, and in places like Greenham there's a lot of humour too (there has to be, in all that mud!). Elantan - listen to Pania, she knows - diary! diary! diary! It helps.

Got a mystery shop this morning, and have to do all the paperwork first, plus inputting after, of course.... need to buy some floss and a couple of energy saving lighbulbs while I'm out, ooh, very fancy..... also got to sort out all the financial paperwork on my desk. I have a couple of sessions this afternoon, but I really want to work on doing a matched bet, so will try to hurry up about the rest of it. And I got back into doing some surveys again yesterday, so will try keep that up today, maybe while I listen to some inspiring CD on the headphones, got to get into that too.

Have a good day, everyone! Off to get brekkie now.

Wow the forum's busy - good for the individuals on here, worrying for what it says about what's happening at large.

Anyway, just finished inputting the data from this morning's mystery shop. Aargh! These mobile phone ones are so finicky!!!! Its a better rate of pay than surveys, I suppose, but only just. Its taken about three and a half hours all told - can't help thinking my time would've been better spent getting to grips with matched betting - I'd planned to do some study today, but I'm working in 45 mins. Ah well, it'll be money in the bank. Soon....

    Howdy Karma!!!!!

Gosh sounds as if it is all happening with you honey, and yep I agree about whats happening on here. Also noticing it very strongly in my position of employment. people are feeling the pinch a lot more at the mo, maybe it is to do with houseprices rising by stupid percent over the last few years but salaries staying stagnant?
Keep thinking about rejoining the mystery shop club but work springs things on me at very short notice and it would just be my luck that i'd have a shop planned... will think about it though.
I'm sure somewhere friendly for dragon would be no bother at all and i'd be more than happy to assist with the bag carrying,
Off to do a bit of housework but may keep checking back to MSE, just to feel reassured!!! he he
    Hugs Karma,

Hugs, Dragon, lots of them. There's no way that you're going to miss out on places, if I have anything to do with it. I've bag-carried for people on crutches before, including a science-fiction friend who was so badly disabled the council installed a stairlift in her house. Don't worry.

  • Hi KC - hope you've had a good week. Mine's been a bit hectic, and I'm glad it's the weekend. Sigh - I'm sure we'll get there soon with the mb-ing... let me know if you've already started.

    Catch you soon,

Hi GTD - oops! When you posted this, I was already out for the day, at the World Money Show in London - I know what you mean about the matched betting, we don't seem to be free at the same sort of time at all.... I haven't started, just got the A&L a/c and the betfair a/c open - I'd love to do a bet on the midweek footie, maybe we can run it by Pania as well as official stuff on here, that would help. When are you free to prepare to do that? I'm free Monday evening (tho I've got a 1.5 hour dental appointment on Monday afternoon, so I'll be taking things slow)..... so I can commit to an hour or so on Monday evening.

Anyway, the World Money Show.... its a showcase for brokers, foreign exchange firms and spreadbetting platforms.... they pretend that they charge for entry, but if you know anything at all about the internet, there'll be a firm that'll give you a complimentary ticket. They run presentations and seminars too, which actually are quite interesting. There were two statistics that made me worry quite a bit:
    - the number of people opening spread betting accounts has doubled in the last year.
    - an average of 81% of spread bettors lose money.

So what does that say about the worsening of the credit crunch! I knew the last statistic, actually - tho I've heard the average as being 90% losing money. Same diff.

One investor-type thing that did interest me is that now that oil is where its at, and will be at the high-end for some time, there's a lot of stuff out there from Canadian companies using the oil shale deposits - stuff that was completely uneconomic or unreachable before today. I don't know anything about it apart from that, but I do find it interesting, partly because my DOACC membership is based on Canada!
