    Hiya

I was thinking about that as I typed it - I didn't lose it, I just didn't *make* it. This afternoon, OTOH, was *such* a waste of time. I had to go to a local village that only has one bus an hour. And I browsed the village till it was time for the m/shop, then used the time afterwards to sit in the local library and write up the shop. Just nice time to post the Amazon parcel and get to the bus stop. And then I found out that the bus - one an hour, mind - had broken down. Really not good. I browsed the local Budgens (a bit like a mini-Waitrose, this is one well off village!) but I was freezing, really really cold, and once I got in, even tho I switched the heat full on, my teeth were aching from the cold, v painful (ever since I had shingles about 12 years ago).

Still, I'm warmed up now, teeth not aching, just got time for another cuppa tea before I start work - 2 hours, but not too bad. I'm glad to be in the warm tonight.

  • Hi Karmacat,

Sorry to read about your time at the villiage, at least you're home now and in the warmth.

Not had shingles myself but my mum had them a few years ago and she still gets pain on one side of her face, so I really sympathise (((hugs)))

Tea, hi! Thanks, I am warm now, v cosy! Shingles were just the opposite, v dreadful, pacing up and down to try to take my mind off the pain at 4 in the morning, even tho the doc had given me double the normally recommended dose of ibuprofen etc. Hi ho. Those days are long gone, thankfully. The worst now is that I think my cheeks are still red from the cold, I look like one of Santa's gnomes!

Poor Karmacat, that MS trip sounds a right pain. Glad you've warmed up now. I've had shingles too and get recurrences every now and then, I had one this year and it's horrid. Hope things otherwise are going well, I feel a bit out of touch with your diary.

By the way, are you taking knitting commissions for Christmas? I can't think what to get my two little nephews, aged two and three, I thought of woolly hats. If you are taking commissions let me know.

Morning! I'm afraid I'm not doing any knitting in time for Christmas, Seaxwyn - but it might be an idea for the future, to help me stay watching the charts, actually. I lost focus *again* this morning, and as a result did what we call "chasing a trade" - thankfully, my spidey sense kicked in, and I got out - with a profit of 50p, mind! - I'd got in at exactly the wrong place. I wasn't really chasing actually, I traded to prove that I still could. Really going to have to work on the focus thing - I'll make that my priority for today, I think.

    DFW work already done:
    - £15.78 received from Amazon.
    - £11.50 received from scratchcards - both t/f to my overpayment account, which means I just coloured in another £25 square - £225 now!
    - been doing more on qype, its only fair as they paid me so much and they're good sorts.
    - have received the iponts for doing Sun Bingo last week - M&S vouchers, here I come.
    - done my scratchcards etc.
    - that 50p on my spreadbetting account still counts, its real money!

    Off to amend my sig: 15.78 + 11.50 + 20.00 (ipoints, I spent £10 can get £30 M&S vouchers), so I'm happy.

Seaxwyn - I feel bad I'm not doing the knitting! I think thats something I'd like to make time for, and it certainly ties in with other stuff. Watch this space... (please! don't go! :o  )

Don't feel bad! I should be quite capable of knitting hats myself.

I have just used part of my Qype voucher to buy a 'knit your own monkey' kit for my goddaughter. It looks really sweet.

That sounds nice...i saw a very expensive kit in one of the shops but it was nicely presented..all the knitting things in one of those little girl vanity cases..cost about £30 but as a DFW i would make it all myself...it did look lovely though.
I remember my mum getting me started on knitting with a cotton reel and nails in the top..i loved it , then small needles and we also used to practise finger knitting as well.Kept us all amused for hours.
