Re the list thing - a friend of mine numbers everything and then gets dice and throws them and the number on the dice is the number on the list you have to do!

Hi Dragon! Hope you're well - that system comes from a novel, The Dice Man - I've known people use it for social events, certainly. Off to have a butcher's at your thread now....

Couldn't sleep this morning, was up at 6am, v sore and headachey - pushing too hard at the ballet. I've decided to knock it on the head, I'm afraid - I'm favouring my arthritic foot, which the teacher said is dangerous, and I was dreading the class by the time I got there. Felt a bit tearful saying it, but there's no point putting myself into self inflicted pain and who knows what problems in a few years time. Especially when one of the other dancers said that there's loads of adult dance classes eg flamenco at a local independent school who rent out their dance studio. So I'm going to find them. And I've told the ballet teacher that I'll come back to view classes during her Open Week (!) and that I'll help out backstage if she does the show that she's been asked to do next year. Hi ho.

Otherwise - off to London today, fairly busy, but I've got time to do a few things, and I want to make sure the house is ready for me to just enjoy the weekend and do things, even if they are mse things, so that I don't have to fiddle about tidying up.

    Have a good day all.

    xx

Aww that's a shame, but no point in causing yourself pain. It's great that you can still get involved though. Flamenco sounds interesting!

    Have a good day - how's the week's list getting on? x

It is sad.... but I'm not one of those people that will just take steroids or something just so I can carry on doing something thats causing me pain - I'll find a way of doing what I want to do that isn't painful! I've had a look at other classes, and I don't think the flamenco is at the right time for me - but there's a tap class that might do, and possibly an Egyptian one too, I'd love to do that. The poor lambs haven't put that on the web timetable - I bet they get some funny people turning up to that otherwise... :)

The list is good! I've done 17/28! Quite a bit of stuff is meant to be at the weekend anyway, and one that I'm not doing today is even trying to trade, not with the markets going crazy the way they are. I chose not to Monday either, so thats actually 9 left, not 11 - so thats 32% left for the next 3 days. I'm pleased with the percentages, BUT its the matched betting, the long term projects and the socialising that aren't getting done. This is really good, actually, it does give me a great overview of what I've achieved and whats to be worked on, I've never had that before so clearly. Even if I just keep it up for a couple of months, it will help. Sorry to beat the subject to death!

The 90 day US prohibition against shorting is due to expire soon. That should ease some of the volatility and narrow some of the spreads.

    Right. Today:

    - I'll list 5 things on Amazon as per Floxxie's ebay/ebid challenge.
    - do a mystery shop I have booked in.
    - tell gfk I want to go back on the Veritel system - I couldn't work out how to use it last time, any tips from anyone greatly appreciated.
    - have amended sig to show 1.82 interest in my money-stashing account, good stuff.
    - will have brekkie, then look for a matched bet on the England match.

    Have a good day, all.

*sigh* yes, that old 90 day US prohibition chestnut again.

Someone else PLEASE tell me I'm not the only thicko on here who has no understanding whatsoever of what's going on in the world at the moment? I got an A for Higher (A-level) Economics but I just don't understand it. Neither does anyone at work, and we're all reasonably intelligent professional type people.

I still blame Kerry Catona for the trouble Iceland are having:p

KC - take a look at: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/251181/20-airtime-for-10-and-9p-per-minute/ for info on some good PAYG deals. Really sorry to hear about the ballet.

Thanks, Panda! Thats a good deal.... :T

I got the Kerry Catona joke on the 2nd reading! :o still don't know where she comes from - a girl group? :o:o - but I know the ad at least!

Won't ask how you are - I'm just popping over to your thread, been wondering about you.

What's going on in the world.... sigh... I have my own opinion. Leverage (borrowing to trade magnifies everything), velocity (if you put your ££ away then they're just ££. But if you spend them the next day, and the next person does the same, your ££ becomes ££ x 3 = lots of £££££££££££ and computerised systems that are on a hair trigger. I'm sure there's lots of very technical ways of putting it, but thats what I see.

You know what they call the stock market, don't you? The study of fear and greed. Thats whats out there in the world right now, absolute unreasoning fear.

Yep, having to bow out of the ballet was a shame - but I'll find a dance format I'm *not* so familiar with :D , like Egyptian or Indian :D , and go with that, much less stressful on the feet, they're quite weak nowadays.
