    Great! I love it too!

I'm doing Clubcard, and Nectar too.... 4000 nectar points.... but they don't get quadrupled like clubcard. Still, its not sensible *not* to do it, if you're a dfw.

Okay, what have I got on today? Lots of little phone calls, that I *still* haven't done.... and I must do a matched bet, really this is getting ridiculous - I'll just have to bite the bullet of a low-ish return and get going - in particular the euro bookie, who has lots of reload offers, I chose them on purpose for that, can't do them while I'm doing the intro. offer. And my accounts - god, this is getting repetitive!

OTOH, my new system of "jobs to do" is working, more or less - instead of saying "I'll plan to work in the garden on Tuesday", I've got a weekly list - work in the garden twice, phone my mum twice, four lots of matched betting, that kind of thing, and put a mark when I do each task. It gives a flexible plan I can really work with... I think!

Anyway, hope everyone has a good day. With all the news thats around, I'm more determined than ever to focus on dfw-ness.

  • Hi Karmacat,

Hope all is well with you? Well done with your weekly plan, I do something similar with the housework, so that I ensure it all gets done and I can spend time on here and playing with the kids.

Helloooo :) I like the idea of a weekly list.. do you find that you leave certain things to the end though, the ones that you don't really want to do? ;)

I confess that I am guilty of doing that. :rotfl:

I do find that, yes! But they would have been a carryover anyway - this just helps me get a bit of balance in the week - I can see straight away that I haven't done any of the monthly stuff, for instance. I mean, you *know* you haven't, but you've got it there in black and white.

Interesting that you've got the same system, Purpletea! How long have you been doing it, and have you found pitfalls too, as red is suggesting?

What I've been doing since I've been on is my itty bitty phone calls - only two left to do! Plus I've listed what I need for my monthly outgoings - not the same as a full budget, but the monthly direct debits and so on. I can't find the list I used to have, but even tho everything's gone up so much recently, the amounts going out are roughly the same - I've worked hard on all my utility bills. The next is communications - I'm on payg with O2, so I might well be able to do something about that.

The coffee is calling me, tho.

  • sounds like a decent system to me..i like the idea. I think i am so used to organising my day down, with a teachers planner would find it a bit difficult..so am looking at my planner now..1.50pm, brew and MSE..see works for me........:rotfl:

Yes, I started the system with the housework in January as it helped me focus on what needed doing in the house.

I tend to leave changing the beds until the last as I hate doing them and I tend to leave cleaning the oven if it's on my list.

Eek.... I don't use the oven much, but even so, I'm a slob. I've cleaned it once in (mmmmm) years. You don't need to know how long that is :o

I've been in touch with both quidco and L&G now about the cashback for their ISA - looks like I'm eligible, and their computer doesn't recognise me immediately, tho it may eventually.. what was it we were saying about L&G not knowing what they're doing? Turns out to be exactly accurate!

Otherwise... half an hour cutting back overgrowth on the patio.... I've had my hot water on in my super duper tank for all of ten minutes, and admittedly it was already lukewarm - now its hot enough to need gloves, so am actually cleaning the kitchen floor (this is very impressive) and washing the dishes - got one client this afternoon, and then out to the ballet class, taping Bones on Sky One along the way - the number two position in my hierarchy of adoration is David Boreanaz. And I love the backchat that harks back to 1930s romcoms.

The paperwork mountain has appreciably downsized, I've even booked in a mystery shop this weekend that will give me tons of money to buy shoes, a workshop next weekend to learn how to crochet (I've seen clips on youtube, but its not the same thing).

'ere we go, 'ere we go, 'ere we go....

Note to self: still not done Accounts or m.b. Don't get cocky.
