Karmacat: I'm passionate about my DFW journey to riches

Really, really annoyed with myself this morning    I did *so* little yesterday: didn't do the washing up, didn't clean the kitchen floor (which is now sticky), didn't clean the hob (which is so dirty that when I light it, it smells), didn't do *anything* on my accounts. I didn't do any exercise. If I had the demands on my time that the mothers on here have, or (god forbid) the ones that have full time jobs too, there would be a reason for this, some good reasons.
But I don't have anything like those demands. In fact, I'm incredibly fortunate. I mean, I've worked for it, it didn't just fall into my lap, but I *do* have an incredibly ... self-directed, lets say .... life. I only had 2 hours work yesterday. I don't have travel time to take into account. Admittedly I was very tired (cos I didn't bother going to bed before midnight), and I also did two hours on the computer, paper trading, but even that I didn't do properly, half the time I was on here.
Just when am I going to get my finger out and start using my time properly?????  :mad:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Oh KC, you had a day yesterday like I often have!! It is one of the reasons I feel that I should benefit from full time work. You should see the state of my house right now!
I really do feel for you.......but today is another day, yesterday is done and (not) dusted. What is the plan of action today?
I have a sort of client (friend who wants her feet done) this morning then am at the prison this afternoon, so am hoping for a couple of hours in between (depending on how long the friend stays chatting) to get a housework blitz done.
Have a good day, list that plan now!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Thanks hypno - can't believe that someone as busy as you ever has days like that, but actually you do post stuff like that on your diary sometimes, don't you? I think because there are no external demands on me, it can be difficult to be a self-starter about everything else, as well as about work.
So, today... yep, just like Scarlett O'Hara said, tomorrow is another day. Well, I have a mystery shop in another local town, so that will get me out and use the morning, it will also give me about 50 minutes hard walking, to and from my local rail station. Still have to do the test and print the paperwork, but its a familiar visit, so it shouldn't be a problem. Then I have two clients this afternoon.
I'll have to watch myself tho, I'm still dopey - didn't put any water in the perc, so am still coffeeless (aargh!!!). Today I will:
- do the washing up. All of it.
- do at least two more sections of the accounts. I can do at least "misc" and listing of income. Thats from all these different little savings accounts - the funniest is my current account with hsbc, actually, I get interest of about ten pence a month, but it all has to be declared. It makes me laugh every year, declaring ten pence.
Right. Thats a plan. Thanks hypno!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
First things first though, KC, get that coffee sorted - you can't even *begin* to formulate plans without at least one cup of coffee inside you!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Right, well I'm wondering whether to have another coffee now, but in the meantime I've seen to my emails and cleaned the hob, including the metal things that hold the pans over gas flames - I don't even know what they're called! *Will* have a coffee, I think, and will make this post a list, to be amended during the day of things that I've done, its the only way I can make today count. So:
1. have done emails.
2. have cleaned hob.
3. have taken "test" and printed mystery shop details, as well as checking train times to get there.
4. 0943: done the first round of washing up - fitted a lot in, it'll only need one more sink load. Off to reward myself with that cuppa coffee.
1028: last lot of washing up done, except for the old water bottle upstairs, that'll have to wait till after the m.s. Dead chuffed.
5. 1337: have done the mystery shop. I am my own worst enemy tho; I had to bring a cheque to be put into my bank account, and forgot it, so I had to go back and then I missed the *late* train. At least, in delaying for the *verylate* train, I got *all* the washing up done! And I bought some veggies while I was out - desperately trying not to over-cater for veggies any more, it really is money down the drain. Have had a meal, and just got to get ready now for a client at 2pm.
6. 0745 the next day: did the inputting (of course!), and the two sessions (also of course!).
7. D some of the accounts! Thank heavens.... did the "Misc" heading, which had a lot of stuff I'd completely forgotten about, and most of the "extra income" bit - there's a single Amazon sale, cos I started in the last tax year, and interest from various bits. As I thought, the funniest is the interest accrued in my current account: much more than the 10p a month I thought it was, tho: the lowest amount was 14p, and the highest was 21p! I'll be a millionaire soon..... lol

Oh stop beating yourself up KC it is MUCH harder to be organized and structured when you work from home. This year I worked in a "proper job" for two months with proper hours-full-time and the boss from hell. My house was so much more ordered and I got lots more of the peperwork and stuff at home done because I knew I only had a certain time frame to do it in. If it hadn't been for the control freak boss I'd still be there but sanity was preferable to a clean hob
Thanks for mentioning mystery shops -I'd completely forgotten I've got one to do today until you mentioned it !I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

hi kc, don't be so hard on yourself. I've been there with the self motivation thing. I mean, why bother getting off the sofa when your having a better time there?
I have a little to do list on my phone and I try to do a few things each night. Anything urgent gets done first, the others I try and do them all but the odd one will get carried over. It's the only way I ever get anything done. After leaving the house at 7 and not getting back till 6 it takes a lot of effort!
Keep up the good work, just make small lists with a few important things to do each day rather than a huge list that will never be managed. Slow and steady wins the race they say!0
