Thanks, ISOM! Good tip about the T&C. I think the thing about m.b. is that you seem to be able to do it days in advance - I've just done a trial of a match on the 24th - thats plenty of time to check with the experienced people and then actually do it. I do actually understand the principle - but I worry about looking in the wrong boxes. I think I'm going to beg for phone numbers when I actually start doing it, so I can check that I've done that :rotfl:

Thanks, Pania - I was just looking at the referrers thread (duh!) and it seems to be quidco AND a referral. It was about an hour ago now, and I'm shattered, so I can't quite get it right, but I'll check again tomorrow - v strange. I did a trial of betfair and coral, and grumbler okayed it, so I'm chuffed at that!

    Offline now - g'night all....

    Right, these are the developments:

    1. Joined betfair through quidco and referral - got age approved, even tho my passport had expired, they checked me through the electoral roll.

    2. Have joined the long haul thread! My loan expires in May 2012, and my mortgage in October 2012, so technically thats my debt free year. Obviously, with all the wheezes I learn on here, I hope it'll be years before that - i.e. next year! (I joined Pania's £15k challenge, after all!) - but thats how it technically stands.

    3. Housework challenge - same as above, not going particularly well, but better than it might have! :p

    4. Healthy eating still going, must start on the supplements now to build myself back up.:j

    5. dentist - bad news there, another crown cos a molar got chipped, £170.... and the final fitting is on my birthday, definite boo hiss there.

    6. Hope to be doing my first matched bet this weekend with gtd. Both got to find a bookie to join. :money: :money: :money:

do coral as your first one hon but NOT THROUGH QUIDCO!!!!!!!!!!! (for once and only time you won't use them as the code won't work. code is SUN50 and they credit it instantly to your account.

Glad you are feeling a little better now and you certainly seem to have slightly more energy.

And don't you forget you've joined the challenge!!! I's a holding you to it!!!! he he.

Hugs and sorry to hear the bad news re the crown, whens your birfdee? do tell!!

And finally... any news on the spread betting thingy?

  • Been busy then!! Sorry about tooth...Wales used to be really cheap for dentists but they seem to have caught up with England, although we do get free prescriptions still! Wish I could get the hang of matched betting but every time I look at it my mind just shuts down and I just cannot get it! Keep up the good work though!

Thanks both! Not sure I can do coral as the very first one, pania, as gtd has already got that crossed off his list, but I'll certainly do it the way you say - I've heard good things about that particular freebie! The thing that petrifies me about it all is comparing the wrong box, the principle is fine.

Its details I go wrong on - like the spreadbetting for instance, I haven't come back to you, pania, because its the same as the matched betting - I understand the principles perfectly, but am shaky on the details. With the particular spread bets I'm going to use, I don't need to understand the details of ntr/margin requirement, once I've understood the principle. But with only £150 available, and bigger minimum bets than my own spread bettor offers, I have to understand precisely what the money can do, precisely what the amount of leverage is thats offered. Awkward!

And I'm staying with the challenge, don't worry - matched betting, spread betting, and quidco, which is a glory as yet untapped for me!

    Gotta go!

The housework challenge (from hypno's thread) just became more important. My mum is coming down to my sister's for New Year, and we're going to the theatre in my town. That means they'll pop in to my house: so I *have* to get the place at least as good as it was in summer, preferably better so she can see progress, and I have to get my christmas tree up. And fully decorated. Oh boy.
