Thats good news that he's cutting them back..they grow at such an alarming rate. You'll have a lovely garden by the time you've finished.0

Yep, he's always been a positive neighbour. The rest of the family can be a bit off, but he's friendly and well meaning. And one day my garden will be gorgeous! Thanks!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Aargh! I'm trying my best to switch my energy bills, and using energyhelpline, as recommended by Martin.... turns out the cheapest for me is British Gas???? How can that be right? That sounds mad! The cap till Dec 09 is about £90 a year more than I'm currently paying, which is do-able. I don't get it, I must be such an *odd* consumer. Anybody got any feedback about this? All contributions gratefully received....2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hmmm.... well, I wish this *did* only take a few minutes as Martin says it does  currently the champion of the fixed rate ones is Scottish Power. That gives me a 10% increase on my current tariff, more or less, and is fixed till the end of August 2009.
That doesn't sound bad, does it????2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Oh Karma I'm sorry I can't help you... I am yet to start the dreaded change, I must do it I really must but I am dreading whayt you are experiencing now a time consuming confusing experience! I need to dig out my bills so I know what tariff I am on, I am with EDF at the mo and found them good but its them who have increased prices first! Joy!
So not been any use at all sorryhowever there is a thread about changing it may help to post on there?

Aha! There's a thread? Thanks KM - sympathy and information, thats what I want! See you....2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Good grief, there's a whole board! I never even looked
off now to make a cup of tea, then to quidco to sign up to the Scottish Power thingy I found. £72 cashback !!!
See KM, you *did* know enough to help me!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
It's all so confusing isn't it?..I am with scottish power and was on a online energy saver tarriff and am now on a fixed rate thingy until 2011 but don't understand it..lol....apparently fixed is about 10% dearer than normal tarriffs anyway....but if companies put prices up a lot more than 10% then I'm in front...I think!!!!!0
-
I'm still confused tho
I went to Scottish Power via quidco, input my details, and when I pressed the calculation button, a warning came on that it was very low useage...
... I must be a right miser. I've factored in the underpayment on the gas and everything.... the capped rate the switching thingy recommended is £60 a year more expensive than what I'm currently paying. Thats £5 a month. Okay, thats decided me - I am *sure* that over the next year my bills are going to go up by more than £5 a month.
This is the value of a diary! :j :j Where else could I put this stuff and not have it lost? Just like hypno said about buying the one page a day diary to make notes in - you need one place.
And of course, I just forgot the cashback from quidco in the above calculations. Definitely off to do it. It would pay even if there were no rise!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Honestly, taxi, I'm so confused about the whole thing. I think I've sorted it now, but there's no gospel is there? We just have to do the best we can. I've done that, so I'm going to sign up. Hey ho.
EDIT: done it! Thank heavens. Thats fixed till the end of August next year - thats long enough, I'm fine with just fixing till then. Can't wait for the quidco to appear now!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
