Now Now madam come on. Pick some bits off now and post it here as a shorter list, or all day that massive long list will just look daunting and demotivating.

So whats going to be first? :)

I vote..... "Make cup of tea" ;)

Never write a list with more than 3 things on it! I read that advice somewhere and it works for me.

Pania wins! Sorry Seaxwyn! Squirrel! I didn't see your post till just now! You should win! The cup of coffee just got made and is about to be poured:

    - cup of coffee.[done]
    - virtual trading [done].
    - take recycling out.[done]
    - email beloved American cousin [done, had missed out yesterday]
    - prepare for this morning's mystery shop [well, its printed out, anyway! Better read it then]
    - do washing up [mostly done][done, but have created more, of course!]
    To be done:
    - go do mystery shop, input afterwards or not depending on how it goes [done, not to be input today, need to wait for a phone call].
    - buy some soil for indoor basil [done. £1.79 for 20 litres, hurray][oops, already had an unopened bag. Ah well, it will keep].
    - buy some chains from hardware store 12 x 15", not for anything funny, you lot - so I can hang the shower curtain and actually use it - it doesn't reach the bath yet, so can't stand up and use the newly-replaced shower [bought a rope washing line for £1, will experiment with fancy looping - there's 20m of it, and I only need about 2m, so there's room for experimen!].
    - half a dozen other emails: two potential clients [done one], two relatives, two friends(ooh, how symmetrical) (tho not dfw really, except for the potential clients).
    - prepare for tomorrow morning's mystery shops - 3 phone calls, I won't have time to prepare those on the day, never done 3 before in one go.
    - matched bet for tonight's game, 4th in a WR of 5.[OOOHHHH, done! And for a change, a diff of only 0.03, yay me!]
    - sundry fundraising: desperatebingo, greasypalm, quidco, playboy casino.

    - hmmm, don't think I'll have time to do this one while I'm out: check out the book club at Borders[no, I didn't, but thats okay].
    - oh I forgot - I have paid work to do! [seen one client, got another later][done, finished for the day]

There you go! The full horror of my list.

    Aargh. Forgot the mindfulness CD.

Along with the compost and the shower-rope experiment, I bought 4 wooden hangers, from a poundland-type shop - 4 solid wood hangers, cheaply made admittedly, but in total they cost £1.49. After having seen part of that programme on Monday about Primark (where the decorations on some clothes are done by children living in refugee camps) I really wonder about that....

Didn't do most of the emails, and didn't do the sundry fundraising, but did do some more gardening - depressed myself, actually, all this work I've been doing is on the paths, half the front garden, and the patio, and thats all. Thats about 15% of the total, and when I hopped further up towards the back, I saw quite how overgrown its become. Not at all good.

So I went over to the greenfingered board, and was instantly recommended to a gardening diary site - hurray! That'll keep me focussed in the same way that doing this diary keeps me focussed. I am *so* glad I *used* the feeling bad to do something positive.

    Sleep well all.

  • You're working hard in that garden Karma so I hope you are taking a few moments to admire your handy work each day which I hope makes you smile rather than focussing on what is not done just for a moment. I suppose the garden is like lots of things in life when baby steps are required to create large strides. So baby steps then admire and be proud.

    Take care

Hi KM! How are you? You're right about the admiring and baby steps. I do admire, actually - and Ive realised something important. My 2nd bedroom looks onto the patio, and cos the garden is so steep, its *all* you can see from that room. Having the patio more in order makes it more likely that I'll use that room, which I didn't expect at all. In fact, I went in there this morning to admire my little windowbox of herbs, which I finally took out of their pots last night. Go, little herbs, go!

So true.... same as at the front garden, my bird feeder is just a few feet from the kitchen window, and I can watch them to my heart's content very easily (and sometimes I creep away from the washing up so I don't disturb them!) :o :rotfl:
