  • Great to see you again, Milly-Ann-Molly:). It's always nice to offer a new home to ex-commercial hens but sometimes they're not economically viable if you are relying on them for a regular supply of eggs. Just a thought for what it's worth.

I love your other self-sufficiency plans:beer:. Nothing tastes as good as newly dug/picked fresh fruit and veg:j. Kantankrus Mare has an allotment. When she's next here I bet she can give lots of useful advice.

Thanks :) I will look at point of lay hens too... just trying to be a total scrooge this year. Our mortgage fixed rate ends (although it's been fixed at 5% for 5 years!!) and I want to get a cheaper deal BUT with a massive CC fear that'll be a no... so selling everything not nailed down or painted on... trying to clear the dratted CC first... make us stronger when we apply to re-mortgage... then afterwards we can hopefully overpay the mortgage and save a few years for retirement! (Seems odd thinking of that as DH just turned 40...)

I am glad to have the laptop back! BUT gosh how many emails :rotfl:

  • Great to see you again, Milly-Ann-Molly:). Sorry about your laptop. I was laptop-less last year when mine died and it threw my whole world into disarray:eek::eek:

Congratulations on your money making:T. Impressive results, puts me to shame

Kantankrus Mare isnt a very good advert for growing your own at the moment. Life is too blumming busy!! Silly me agreed to extra hours before I went on a week off at the beginning of this month so this week and last week I have been doing 5 days at work.
Also my mam has been saying for a while that she could do with a cleaner to do things like the paintwork, kitchen cupboards and a multitude of other bits that she cant manage. She has COPD and struggles with breathlessness which is getting worse. :(

So I offered my services. Just two hours each Thursday morning. She insists that she pays me so an extra £20 a week is going into the "over paying the mortgage" pot. :D

Not left me a lot of time to do anything else. Not sure how people working full time get everything done?

So much for me dropping my hours at work.

Aak away though Milly and if I can help I will.

£40 to add for being Mrs Mop (Last week and this week)

Lost track with tips but think its around £25

Finally got my gifthulk payment so will say £3.50

Well done everyone on moneys made this month. :T

Hey all - just popping in again. Really need to update my total (may do it tomorrow) as made some more bits and pieces. Starting to think hard about the start of the month and how I am going to make next months total and what my goal should be.

I managed to list 3 things on eBay earlier (all small value) and already sold one of them! Just a pound or two, but every little helps..

Hope everyone has a a good break over Easter.

  • Arghh my total won't be increasing this month after all ...so I just missed my target. Pay office messed up and they haven't paid me this month for reasons unknown! I am gutted...and overdrawn! Eek starting the very skint 32 day countdown until I do get the pay... Why did I preempt the pay and send it to the cc... Darn it

  • Random question. I don't pay tax as I am a very low earner. I did some farm work last October and got paid...but I also got super taxed and had NI contributions deducted...I was short nearly £80 wages... Do I get this back automatically at the end of the tax year? I never got a P45 or a payslip from the farm, despite asking! I don't even know if the tax man actually got the money!!! I hope that being near the end of the tax year it will surface. I did horrid manual labour (and I am disabled so it hurt a lot!) for over 10 hours to earn that £80 and it is mine... How do I get it?

I remember you talking about this job.

If you ring HMRC you should be able to find out if you will be getting this tax refund. YOu can also apply for the NI contributions if they were wrongly paid. But HRMC should be able to help with all that.
