    Evening all

Sorry to read all your house problems Aesop and hope you soon find a new-to-you forever home fingers xd :D

Really sorry I haven't been about this past week, but had the most horrible virus attacking me on all fronts. Not able to eat or drink with any comfort or enjoyment, a splitting headache and general aches. Have been dosed up on painkillers and vitamins, together with warm drinks and blankets. Not able to focus properly lots of the time and sleeping for hours and hours. At last I feel a bit more human and awake !

So, this month is practically a wipe-out for me regarding making any monies. Well done all those who have made some :T :T

Good luck for the next few days and hope you all enjoy the week

I'm so sorry to hear you've been so poorly, Lynne. Your symptoms sound awful. Great to know you're getting back to normal again now:T. As with Aesop, we really miss you when you're not here but know your absence must be for a very good reason. You're always so welcoming to the new people and encouraging and helpful to everyone. The thread isn't the same without you:A. I hope you aren't going to desert us when you move on to your new life in Spain;).

    Take care x

You sounded much more upbeat in your full post:j. Things will pick up for you:). Try to be thankful for something every day, however small it is. Something as simple as the sun shining or seeing buds on the trees. I know some of the advocates of this technique suggest finding 3 things every day but in the past when I was going through some black times, many years before the 'mindfulness 'thing' took off, I was hard-pressed to find even one thing sometimes at first:eek:. I usually managed it even though at first I was struggling to find anything in my life to be grateful for. In time it becomes second nature to end each day feeling I've been really blessed (in a totally non-religious way). That doesn't mean I go around with a constant smile on my face or that I wouldn't change loads of things about my life if I could. It just helps to make the bad times seem not totally awful.

Sorry about the sermon (again in a non-religious way):o

As for missing someone to talk to and have a glass of wine with, I empathise totally with that:kisses3:. I've never been able to talk to OH about anything important or involving emotions. He just doesn't 'get' how people tick:(. He doesn't want to know how they are feeling. I'm not a big crier but when anything really awful has happened in my life and I've actually cried anywhere near him he's just lost his temper and stamped out of the room. Giving a hug to someone who's in emotional distress (even me, his partner of 40 years) is just something he'd never do. I do understand how isolated and alone you feel at the moment. Just remember you've all those wonderful years ahead, sharing things and having fun and memorable times with your son:j.

We're all here for you on this thread. Drop in and have a good 'whinge' whenever you need to. You're not whinging at all by the way, that was your word;). We can't supply the wine:( but we can 'listen', maybe offer some words of advice and reassurance, and definitely send virtual hugs your way:grouphug:

Love your posts, you always give great advice and support - Thank you for being you!
Aesop. It sounds as if you've been having a horrendous time with the house and everything, I hope the Purple Bricks assessor gets everything he/she needs to do finished with the least disruption to you and the family. Have you found another house yet? It must be very difficult finding the time to get things sorted with everything else you've got on at the minute.

Your DS's success with his games trading made me smile. A real chip off the old block there, Aesop;). He'll go far. It's never too soon to learn the value of money. You've trained him well:T

Don't worry about leaving us in the lurch for a while. The thread isn't the same without you but we know you've got a lot of real life stuff that has to take priority in the bit of spare time that you can squeeze out of each day. We'll still be here when you can come back more often:beer:

I agree the thread isn't the same without Aesop, sending love and best wishes. I also agree it's never too soon to learn the value of money, our son at 14 is great and handles his money/savings so much better than his older step brother :rotfl:

well done on your recent wins.

you just reminded me, I won some books on Facebook. Ds was most disappointed when I showed him. He said I thought you had won me fat books.... lol. they were the quick read books for world book day.

I said that's ok, donate them to the school library.
  • Well gone on your competition wins, Aesop and ziggy:T:beer:. Sorry if I've missed anyone out. I've won nothing for months but it might help my chances if I actually entered some more comps instead of just moaning that I never win anything:rotfl:

Congratulations too to all who have 'won' anything through MBing or any other means:T:beer:.

'Free' money and other things are always good:j

Has anyone on here had any success with the Testable Minds study site yet? It was very slow to get started when it was first launched so I never bothered to get involved with it. I just wondered if anyone has had a payout yet and how quickly they actually pay.

I'm on a facebook group for testable minds. all they do is complain about lack of surveys etc. so think the £30 or $30 payment is taking a while to reach. to be honest i have done very few surveys for a while now, whether prolific or panelbase or anything. only make sure I do pinecone as dont want them kicking me off

I've cut back my survey participation to the sites that pay well, have really good surveys, and don't take forever to reach the payout level. That meant I unsubscribed from several last year once I'd had a payout. I now just do PA (my favourite for interesting surveys and quite a lot of them:j); Pinecone (interesting surveys, often get stuff to test, low payout level); YouGov (interesting surveys but takes years for me to reach the £50 payout:() I'm only 250 points away from my next £50 cheque now (al last!) and should get there before the summer. I can't face the long slog from zero again so I'll be closing my account with them once I've been paid. I think that's about it but if Testable Minds was any good I might have had a go with them. Probably won't bother now though.
