You definitely sound a bit better today from your writing Foxgloves - so fingers crossed this does mean the corner has been turned. I definitely found fresh air helped when I had it too - helped my head feel less "wooly".🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks, everyone. I did feel by yesterday afternoon that I'd turned the corner & was improving. I didn't have a very good night, however, as had to get up to deal with 2 humungous coughing fits which simply wouldn't stop......well, obviously they did in the end, but not before my chest muscles were hurting like crazy from all the hacking & I needed to catch my breath. Today, I haven't noticed any further improvement. In fact, my tubes are tighter if anything, which I expect may have been exacerbated by last night's ridiculous coughing.. Anyway, I haven't been useless these last two days (& yes, I have been resting). I managed to deal with all those tomatoes yesterday, as planned. I made tomato soup, which we enjoyed last night with freshly basked crusty bread & I skinned, roughly zizzed & froze the rest for future use - 7 containers in all.
We had an early supermarket delivery this morning (under budget), so we were up ready for that. Mr F, who is feeling quite a lot better & was very much wanting to go into work tomorrow afternoon, did another LFT test. He wasn't impressed at all to see that for all the improvement (much more than me), he is still positive. I didn't bother testing. I don't think it's possible to feel this rubbish & not test positive, frankly. He's been resting this afternoon, but decided to clean the house this morning. I did a bit of light tidying, but he vacuumed & cleaned the bathroom and also put most of the shopping away.
I've finished the first half of my genealogy typing (the project that will be presented nicely as a gift) & am looking forward to editing in all the photos/illustrations. I'm nowhere near my usual levels of productivity, but at least I feel as though I've done something. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day with fewer symptoms, I shall try to be positive. My first symptoms appeared last Saturday afternoon, so I've been poorly for about a week - I gather the average covid trajectory is 1 - 2 weeks, so I've time to pick up yet. I know that I always take a full fortnight to recover from flu & most of the improvement comes in the 2nd week for me from what I remember. You can tell I'm trying to think positive, can't you?
@EssexHebridean - Yes, the woolly head is grotty, but I haven't had much chance for fresh air today, as it's absolutely been slarming it down with rain. I'll try to get outside for a bit tomorrow.
@Humdinger1 - Yes, too right I am enjoying the Twilight of the Tories. That's a demise which can't come soon enough for me.
And now I'm going to close the curtains to shut out the rain & gloom.
Take care m'dears,
F x

You are so like me with the wanting to carry on regardless. I even managed to clean up and cook with my leg in plaster - both times. I’m glad you’re listening to your body and taking it easy. Fingers crossed you’ll start to perk up soon 🤞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

It’s really taken it’s toll on you but hopefully you’re on the downward trail now and will begin to feel better soon. Your tomato soup sounds delicious 👍
I hope Mr Foxgloves doesn’t go rushing back to work too quickly….MEN…..why do they think they’re exempt from health rules. My Dh nags me to look after myself then completely ignores said advice when it come to himself. 😏January spends - £587.586 -
Big hugs to both of you, hope you're feeling better soon xx5

Hope you both continue to improve. The tomato soup and home made bread sounds like a perfect meal.

Hope you both continue to improve. The testing positive seems to go on forever I remember even when I felt fine. Definitely 10 days plus ☹️5

Just sending hugs. And yes, ten days before in was anything like.
It certainly affects everyone differently. I felt fine at first and made a large pot of soup which kept me going when I wasn't feeling like cooking. 🤗5 -
Thanks all. Definitely not feeling good today, that's for sure. Am utterly sick of it now. Mr F still positive again first thing (& still has symptoms), so has not been able to go into work to host the major event he's been planning for weeks. He's gutted. He's bored stiff at home, but knows it would not be fair on his team & service users to return just yet.
I'm signing off now, as I think my post will just deteriorate into moaning.

Sorry to hear you’re both still unwell. Hopefully you’ll start to turn a corner next week 🤞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
