Glad you are on the mend. I have read all the Karen Pirie books and remember the “well hole” scene but really can’t remember how the book ended though I know the screenplay sometimes varies from the book. In my head Karen Pirie was much older.4

You’re sounding a lot better than you did a couple of days ago which is good news. I found it hard to rest when I broke my ankle and then my leg. The novelty wore off after a couple of days as I felt fine in myself. I was finding all sorts of ingenious ways to get things done involving using a stool on wheels to replace the broken limb 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Thanks all. Yes, I am feeling improved - not anywhere near my usual levels of energy & still have annoying symptoms lingering (mostly tight tubes), but much better than I was, I had a very good night's sleep AND I tested negative this morning. Soot brought me a dead mouse to celebrate.
Morning Campers!
Still not aiming to do too much today. I did think I might get at least a little bit of time in the garden on light duties, but it's been raining all morning so far, so I will wait for a better day.
I'm mostly doing small jobs & trying to get back to normal. So far I've put a colour on my yukky roots (have saved the plastic bottle so I can save some money next time by just mixing up half a pack) & finally used up a shampoo to which I added some water a couple of weeks ago to extract the last of it. Other use-it-ups were in my sights today too (some surplus beef chunks from the freezer, the last of our little homegrown onions, etc) & are now in the slow cooker among other things for a stew. I shall just need to add some chunked up potatoes this afternoon & that's dinner done. Did next week's meal plans while waiting for the onions & leeks to brown.
I've decided to up my efforts on the very few survey sites in which I still participate. My P/A earnings are cashed out at the end of each month & added to my Personal Spends. I choose JL vouchers for payment from 2 other sites & along with those I get from having a JL credit card, they will be stashed as part payment for this year's Christmas turkey. We are also intending to use this year's nectar & Co-op points as 'Christmas Club money'. We are hosting this year so we thought this would be a useful off-set of expenses, as we have a decent amount of points. Talking of surveys, I've just had such a frustrating experience with the aforementioned site this morning. There was a very well-paying study which I began, but unfortunately couldn't seem to make the game work. It was an interesting subject & I withdrew my participation reluctantly, but my ability to 'play' as per the instructions seemed very random. It may have been me, as although I love games, I have no interest in the electronic variety, so it's possible that there was something I just wasn't 'getting'. Anyway, in the end, I couldn't spend any more time trying to figure out why I could make hardly anything work, so gave it up. Bah!!
On the subject of December C-Word festivities, I had an idea for my youngest nephew's present today, researched it to see if such a thing exists - it does - & will almost certainly go ahead & purchase. It looks as though there might be a new customer 5% discount code which is better than now't, I suppose. I intend to have my covid recovery rest over lunch time, then to start sourcing the illustrations/photos for the genealogy project I intend gifting to a family member. I shall enjoy that, & will also enjoy choosing a lovely folder in which to present it all. I love buying stationery. It was defo up there on the pre-LBM shopping temptations of the Spendy Years, that's for sure!
Right, I had better crack on. It's certainly good to feel as though I'm improving properly at last.
Take care all,
F x

Pleased you are coming out the other end Foxgloves!! Mind you......you still seem to get more done when feeling under the weather than I do on an energetic day!!
Yes we went to the RHS gardens in Harrogate......what a fantastic place!!
Back to earth with a curve ball for me though.......went for routine mammogram a few weeks ago and thought no more of it till I received a letter on Tuesday this week to go for further checks the next day (yesterday) As all you ladies can imagine, my mind was in turmoil, brooding over every possibility. Anyhow....went to the appointment and the staff were lovely. The consultant said she thinks its nothing sinister but there looks like a small cyst in my left breast. To make sure 100% she did a biopsy and I will find out in 2 - 3 weeks. Was supposed to be at work today but breast feels very swollen and sore. Also shouldnt be lifting which I cant not do in my job so have rung in sick. Fingers crossed that shes right in her thoughts that its nothing sinister.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... Sorry to hear you needed a follow-up appointment @Kantankrus_Mare fingers crossed it is just a benign cyst. I suspect as well as recovering from the biopsy the stress might be manifesting itself physically. Take it easy today and do something to nurture you. Kantankrus I will be sending you positive vibes for all being well - and STEP AWAY FROM DR GOOGLE! I will say that they must be fairly sure it IS just something benign if they are happy to take that long with results though - anything with even a vague possibility of sinister gets fast tracked as I understand it, so that timescale seems like a good sign.
I've now listened to almost all of that podcast I mentioned Foxgloves -a REALLY interesting one, and not least due to how clear she makes it that she's not talking about "exercise" per se, but all usual activities that involve time on feet/walking - that was the bit that hit home as I realised that in fact my own interpretation of how slowly I should have returned to stuff like brisk walking, usual household stuff and certainly even a gentle cycle-commute was a pretty long way off the mark - I'm considering myself fortunate not to have suffered any lasting effects, judging by what she was saying. I'll certainly know (and act!) differently should I get Covid again!
Delighted to hear about your negative test but perhaps not quite so much so about the dead mouse celebration...I don't miss those days!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

@Kantankrus_Mare if it was anything sinister you’d be contacted in a matter of days, I know this from experience unfortunately. My SIL had the same as you and it was just a cyst. It’s only natural to worry though, I’d be exactly the same.@foxgloves, great news about the negative test and feeling better. Soot is just trying to contribute to his keep 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
