Missive from the plague house:
Thanks so much for all the kind comments. Have felt even worse today than I did yesterday & have done nothing except a couple of minor budget updates. Mr F did meal plans for next week & did an online grocery order. He is still feeling rotten but he thinks the lergy has hit me harder.
Can you believe I haven't even done 1000 steps yet today? Have barely got off the sofa.
This morning, Mr F went downstairs, saw that the thermostat said 16° & made a unilateral decision to switch the heating on 4 days early. He was worried about me being so shivery. Naturally with Covid being what it is, by the time the bedroom radiator was on, I was so hot I had opened the windows! He's altered the settings so that the thermostat will be set at 18° as it was last winter, but it will.stay at that, instead of increasing to 19° from 5pm - 10pm. And we have lowered the thermostat considerably overnight on weekdays (10pm - 6am) so as to keep the heating off at night unless temperatures plummet. Once the winter duvet is on the bed, we're nearly always too hot in bed anyway.
We'll see how these settings go as the cooler weather progresses.
Hoping for a better night's sleep tonight. I was awake a lot of last night because my very sore throat & cough were a problem but when I did drop off, I apparently thumped Mr F twice & was shouting about ghosts! Ohhh, the sooner this lergy starts to recede, the better.

Thinking of you both and sending positive healing energy in your direction. Gentle (((hugs)))I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I’ve also turned our heating on today, a few days earlier than planned. Ours is never on overnight unless the temperature dips below 7 degrees. I must admit it feels better already.I expect you’re feeling the cold more with you feeling unwell and not moving much. I hope you start to feel better soon.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

I should think you havent moved from the sofa. Rest and sleep are the best cures along with water, boiled lemonade, honey and lemon or whatever is your poison for your throat . Mr LH swears by egg nogs for when he is not well. Personally I think he just wants the alcohol but as you may have lost your sense of taste that probably wont work. Dont forget to eat when you can.Hoping you sleep better and the lurgy begins its retreat soon.5

Urgh, sounds like you're having a right rotten time! Hope you're feeling better soon. Definitely put the heating on when you're poorly if you need it xx5

It sounds as if you’re both having a tough time. Listen to your body and do things very slowly. Sending get well vibes your way 💐January spends - £587.585

Oh no not the lurgy, I hope you both feel better soon . My second run in with it was worse than the first but I got over it quicker ,these newer infections have a lot more symptoms though and it was the stomach issues that got me down. I have never recovered my proper sense of taste since the first time I caught Covid and now have to use inhalers everyday too and I think that was down to going back to work too soon. Take care and rest lots xxOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1206

Ugh - you HAVE been thumped by it haven't you. Glad you're taking it steady although sorry that it's at least in part because you've felt too rubbish to do anything else. Thanks everyone - your kind thoughts are appreciated.
@Onebrokelady - I can just about still taste things. I had home made chicken soup from the freezer for my lunch & while I couldn't tell what flavour it was, I definitely knew it was something hot & savoury. As of today, we have both lost our sense of smell. We can smell neither clove oil or olbas oil (both a good test of olfactory capabilities, we thought). Bloody Covid!
