There is categorically NOTHING pathetic about looking after both your current and future self's health by resting when needed. Much as I didn't want to get Covid in the first place, once I had got it the thing I was REALLY concerned about was the risk of long Covid so I was very happy to take the advice about resting if it was going to help with that. It was frustrating right enough, but having now seen other pals who got it, suffered less than I did at the time, but went straight back to regular activity once they got a negative result and are now having ongoing problems, that frustration feels like a very small price indeed to pay!
I'm definitely still very cautious of being too close to strangers when out and about - I mean I've never been great about personal-space-invaders, but even more so now! when the whole social distancing thing was at its height I did comment that as far as I was concerned it was great to be able to legitimately step off the pavement to avoid the sort of people I would always ideally have done that around anyway...🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks all. @EssexHebridean, I promise I'm resting. I even went to bed with my book this afternoon. I've been thinking about very un-physical useful things I can do, as I think I'm likely to be out of action all week. It occurred to me that I could work on knitting those scandi-style mittens, which are a Christmas present for my sister. I've started the first one. It's a complicated pattern in multiple colours & being confined to barracks could be just what I need to advance the project. I'm not being silly about trying to dig/clear the garden & doing all my usual weekday activities because I just feel much too poorly. I really am being the very model of Covid common sense.

Dearest @foxgloves get well soon. Your last comment now has me humming 'I am the very model of a modern major-general'. Yes, only delightful activities are permitted and if you nod off in the middle, you plainly need the rest. Love Humdinger xx5

lol, @Humdinger1, I know the one. I've done a bit of G&S back in the day, when I used to sing.

Hope you both feel better soon, resting is the best medicine. Gentle hugs winging your way x5

I hope you both start to feel better soon - sounds horrid.
glad to hear you are resting and I'm sure you have plenty of nutritious food in stock for when you get your appetites back.
take care x5 -
Love a bit of G&S here too although it’s definitely for the best if I don’t try to sing! 🤣🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hope you feel better soon. I echo others on the make sure you rest advice. I made sure I did and recovered quickly but a friend tried to carry on as normal and was really tired and out of sorts weeks later.4

Ps. I took the opportunity to read and binge watch tv series on my iPad (usually don’t have much time for either!).5
