Way to go Nicki! :T Glad to hear your streets are paved with gold too. Or copper, at least, LOL.
My kids rejoiced in a Pavement Bonus of about £3.50 between them last month. And my Pin Money Savings are looking good too, now that we're halfway between pay days: Here's a breakdown (please tell me off if I'm gloating - I know this isn't an average month for me)
Birthday Money: £90 (my husband and I both have our birthdays in June and have been sent money by various relatives. We can't think of anything to spend it on right away. We're pretty content really. A nice meal out has already been budgeted for, so the money we've received can go straight into PMS.)
Selling stuff: £103.27 (just from decluttering various unwanted stuff)
Found money: £1.09 (doesn't include from the pavement: this is money found in the washing machine filter, etc. My family know that the Laundry Fairy is entitled to this tee hee!)
Interest from our "Bills" bank account: £8.83
Goldfish Points in the form of an Asda voucher: £10
Money off coupons: £39.40 (To quote the young man on the checkout, who must've remembered me from last time, "You and your cardboard money!" He said it with a smile, though)
Rewards from online surveys: £10.20
Total so far this month: £262.79
I am so grateful for this thread which has made me actually count up the amounts. We are fortunate enough to be able to "realize" all of these savings, and so we have agreed to make extra money really count for something. One third will go into our "emergency fund" which is in case of redundancy, illness or some major unexpected expense. One third will be an overpayment on the mortgage and one third will be for home improvement projects - our bathroom is dilapidated and this way we can save up for a nice refit without neglecting the other serious, grown-up stuff and then feeling all guilty."By not unsettling men, you will reassure them. By unsettling men either through timidity or malice, you are always compelled to keep a knife in hand." - Niccolo Machiavelli, 1469-15270 -
Forgot to say: one of the coupons we used was one that my husband found lying on the pavement! It was slightly dog-eared but the cashier took it. So that kind of counts as Pavement Money and coupon money. I think I am getting a bit nerdy about categorizing everything..."By not unsettling men, you will reassure them. By unsettling men either through timidity or malice, you are always compelled to keep a knife in hand." - Niccolo Machiavelli, 1469-15270

Caixta - wow, well done! Particulary impressed by the selling stuff amount - I'm looking to focus on this next month. I never seem to get properly around to it, but now hols for us are over, I really MUST.0

I really must look into selling stuff rather than keep on buying stuff! At least these days I only buy bargains!!!!! Managed to get a battery for my camera from ebay for £6 instead of the £50+ in the shops!0

:T Well done everyone - and especially to you Caixta, that's amazing! :T
Welcome JAMIEDODGER :hello:
I'm doing pretty well - this week I have had £20 thrown at me! LOL A £5 voucher while standing in the pay Q, when I used it to pay, I was given £20 in vouchers back (instead of the £15 on promotion!) and then, when I went to use the £20 in vouchers the next day ... the silly billy scanned two of them twice - which meant a further £10 off the billThat is on top of the 20% sale discount and also a further 10% promotion too! :j :j
At the supermarket ... I only bought reduced items and as some of those were also part of buy 2 save X on them I managed to save over £15 on that as wellPhew! It's been a busy few days of saving
LOL

Pin Money still going well. My husband bought a lawnmower blade in Homebase using a 10% off coupon found in a magazine. Then he had enough cheek to ask for a further discount because the packet had a little rip in it! They knocked a further £1.20 off for that.
I found a ten pound note on the pavement today, while walking to the bank to pay in some Pin Money. So that went in as well.
I'm going to stretch that £10 till it screams!
And it's my birthday too.
One of my sons (age 9) gave me a coupon as my present! What a great gift: he knows what I like and I'm glad that he didn't spend his hard-saved pocket money on me."By not unsettling men, you will reassure them. By unsettling men either through timidity or malice, you are always compelled to keep a knife in hand." - Niccolo Machiavelli, 1469-15270 -
Really chuffed with this month's total saved on food shopping alone. Comes to £61.10 - all from reduced items and BOGOFs. With the May total of £51.83 - total to date is now £112.93 !! Out of the average spend of £80 - £100 per week for family of 5 think it is pretty good going - if I say so myself!
I am absolutely amazed at this and aim to continue.0 -
Not sure of the total this month. But I did get a total bargain this afternoon.
I have been after a certain book for my stepdaugther all about girls and there money. Anway been saving up my Ipoints for it. But went to a book shop called superbooks. The book which RRP is £12.99 and is £9.09 from amazon cost drum roll please.
33.3p as it was on the shelf of 3 for a £1 bought to two other books one an hard back about the planet earth and another one about investing.
So today my Virtual pin money is £8.75.
I am so happy and it means that I can save the Ipoints for a treat for myself like a book or DVD. Brillant.
Yours
