Wow, what a view!
Not surprised you're feeling rather impending doom what with NN and having to fork out for solicitor, what a shoddy situation and it is noticeable that the sparkle has gone out of your posts a bit, it is so horrible having something constantly on your mind and I am sending big hugs and a large glass of wine.
Throw everything you can at the bar steward and thank you for taking one for the team in putting a thoroughly nasty man in his place. You will come out of this thriving 🥂https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase/p1

Honestly try to do a good deed and it backfires. Pick up has been returned in disgrace, wipers won’t switch off. OH thinks it’s something to do with the pump/cold weather. He’s now thinking about getting rid of it as it’s been a bit of a pain. When we went south at Christmas, every time it was switched off a sensor started buzzing. No idea what it was and didn’t stop even when it was locked. Then it suddenly stopped doing it. OH had just left for work as it’s quite snowy they said to go in later.I’ve gone on the waiting list for a physio appointment, my arm is sore and I don’t really know why. More so at night when I try to roll over I wake up cos it hurts. With my lack of sleep it’s an ache I can do without!

Not a great start to 2026. Gary golf needs his front brakes doing and won’t start. Pickup is doing something weird with the wipers which means all the battery has to be disconnected and my shark hoover died tonight. I’m hoping that’s the 3 for now.Early morning message from the lady who is looking after the pets of the people who we tried to help, she couldn’t get through to do them because of the ice. Luckily OH wasn’t in till later and he drove me over. Managed to get the dogs out ok. Needed to keep the cats out of the kitchen. Well cur Benny Hill music and me chasing cats round like a bonkers woman. It took me a while to realise there were 2 doors into the conservatory and one of them had a cat flap! So as fast as I was putting them outside they were legging it round to the cat flap!!!
Got the dogs back in but the older girl was certainly not going back in the kitchen. Even OH couldn’t persuade her to go in and after some serious teeth baring we decided to leave her. It was fair enough as she hadn’t met us before.Had to laugh at DD2. I was talking about some friends and he’s a geologist and was pondering if he could help with NN. She replied how does working with vaginas help? Cue lots of laughing and that’s a gynaecologist!! She is dyslexic bless her! I did tell him tonight what his new profession is!
Housework done, bedding washed and back on. Ham and chicken pie made, ham chips and egg tomorrow night. Ham the gift that keeps on giving!

Oh Poor DD2 - she's invented a while new profession for him now hasn't she!
Good work on the pet sitting emergency rescue - although that did indeed sound a bit Benny Hill with the catflap didn't it!
The feeling of doom thing is horrible - I often seem to find I get that a few days ahead of coming down with some sort of bug - it's like my body knows and is saying "uh-oh!". I suspect in your case it's just the uneasiness around NN and that issue coming out though - not surprisingly!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Contacted our solicitor as we haven’t heard anything. He hadn’t heard anything back and will email next week. I know this may appear as bonkers, prodding them, however I don’t think he should be allowed to create such mayhem and stress and then be allowed to crawl back under his rock as if nothing has happened. Probably to ponder his next move.Mentioning of stress, my eye has been playing up and had to get an emergency appointment at the opticians, nothing too drastic but need to go back in 6 weeks. It did mean I had to cancel the lunch I was making for some friends. The upside is now have a mahoosive pavlova to munch as I’d already made the meringue.I’ve managed to move my nail appointment from Friday to Thursday. Not much of a change but they are driving me mad. I need to get them a lot shorter! Plus OH is off Friday and that leaves the day a bit clearer to do things. On Friday Morrison’s decided to cancel Mondays delivery. How did they know on Friday they wouldn’t be able to deliver? One of the upsides of rushing to the opticians is I could grab some bits from the Co-op, not cheap.I’m heading south at the end of the month, hoping there’s enough to keep OH going and I can do a Lidl’s on my way home.Managed to drop Gary Golf off for his MOT on Monday but did notice there was a back light out. OH also booked the pick up in for the electrics to be looked at and another appointment for its MOT. Then that should be cars done until June when mine needs doing. Finally managed to bath the girls. Really needed 2 people, it would’ve been easier. They need a really good brush. No chance of that as we have gales forecast.I’ve got a saver maturing at the end of the month. Need to open another one, a job for tomorrow.DS2 leaves for Oz today. Away for 6 weeks as long as the job doesn’t get cancelled again. Finally paid for his planning application to go through so I’ll keep a beady eye on it in the meantime.DS1 and family are away on holiday which means DD2 is looking after there furball. She’s loving it.I bought some ankle weights, good idea if you want to walk like you’ve had a trouser accident or practice for weighted diving boots. Maybe thought I was stronger than I am (though I will be after I’ve lugged those around). OH found it highly amusing!
One of the fluffies was at the vets for her boosters. I’ve got some gel to apply to their gums to help with their teeth. 2 of them are very stoical about having it done. The other one you’d think I was applying battery acid, honestly such a drama queen!
