Today didn’t quite go according to plan (when does it ever?). Got up early to drop the pickup off for a service. They couldn’t find it but said they’d fit it in. I set off walking to go to the hairdressers. Walked about half a mile when they phoned and said it was booked in for Monday and would prefer to do it then. I trudged back and got it. As I had time to kill I got one last present and then got my mop done.Holiday cottages is lovely. OH came in and turned the heating up. Let’s put it this way the DDs are very money savvy re the heating and it has been a bit on the chilly side (aka bloody freezing) so it was to be warm.DS1 failed to mention they were coming for tea, panic as I defrosted another meal I’d made. Then DS2 and DDs went to meet some friends at the pub. DGD is saying quite a few words, no and mine feature quite a lot!
Met DD2 and we did the food shop together. I called back into Boots as my glasses were sitting too high but I didn’t realise until it came to driving. It was an interesting drive in.They’ve all left to watch the rugby so I’ve popped the indoor lawnmower round, quick tidy up and last of the presents wrapped and now nursing a wee tipple.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

So my scratchy throat from yesterday is trying to morph into a cold. I’m trying to not let it morph!! DS2 is also feeling rough and has a tight chest. He is flopped on the settee. I’m working in the dining room but on hand to minister to his every need! OH is camped in a cafe waiting for the pickup to be finished then he’s on the turkey run. DD1s at work, her last day as well. DD2 has taken the hounds out and they’re happy ducks.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

Christmas Eve dunk done. DD2 did very briefly dabble her toes but chickened out of a full on dunk (wimp!). Dogs had a great time but confined to barracks to limit sand distribution.
Veggies prepped, turkey wrapped and ready to roll, piggies nestling in blankets!See you on the other side.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

Watched the DDs playing rugby, they won. DGD did want to sub at one point until she was retrieved off the pitch. Managed to distract her with the play park.Heading home tomorrow.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

A good trip back, set off at 4.30 and home before 1. We were so full up with stuff there was no chance we could fit a Lidl shop in. Did stop off at the co-op for some bread and milk and managed to snag a couple of half priced joints of beef.Lovely to spend a night in our own bed. Got 2 cottages to clean today.Need to see if I can book a Morrisons slot or brave the expensive co-op in town.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

Fingers crossed for the Morrisons slot then - I can certainly imagine why you might prefer not to use the co-op for main shopping. In the Outer Isles they have at least begun to bring prices a bit more in line with mainland ones now - partly I suspect as so many folk now maintain mainland cars and so can relatively easily pop across to the big supermarkets for a stock up once a month or so. There are still certain things that we tend to stop for on the way through in Fort William for though as once across the other side it will only be far more pricey branded versions available! The swim looked very bracing - I’m right there with DD2 though, I too would have wimped out!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
