    Stove looks lovely.

    Good news on the water.

Great news on finding the email. Hope it gets resolved soon.

OH did go out last night and saw some logs.  My plans have changed, working tonight as a staff member is poorly, working tomorrow night and doing an office day on Monday and then an evening shift.  I'll be glad of the break.
Still need to sort things for holiday and probably need to start a couple of lists.  Things to remember to take, things I need to buy and things that are staying south with various off spring.

  • Good to have some extra money in. Sounds like you need to work when it's there as presumably the tourists reduce in Winter.

I would think once I’m back from being away my hours will reduce. Last shift tonight for a while.

The new stove has been exceedingly Smokey. I’m a bit anxious that this may continue due to wind. The trouble is there is no prevelant direction. It did eventually stop last night but the wind also dropped. Going to light it later and see how it goes. A bit annoying as all the lounge blankets were washed the other week now they’re all Smokey.

Going to start work a bit earlier on Wednesday, then we can set off a bit sooner. The A82 is closed at 8 for road works so need to get past there as soon as we can.

Hopefully the stove will settle a bit once it's been used a few times - although it ay be worth chatting to neighbours to see what their experiences have been if they have similar fitted? I have a vague recollection of a lot of folks in the outer isles having something fitted to the chimney which helps prevent the smoke from blowing back, but that could be a total invention on my part!

As for the A82 - surely some part of it or another is always closed overnight for roadworks, or does it just feel that way? It's a right pain of a road!

It might need a different cowl. OH wants me to light it before I got to job 2 tonight but I’m loathe to do this in case it does smoke while I’m not here. I think I’ll compromise and leave it clean and ready to light

ive actually not had any problems with the A82. Just need to get past that before 8 and then after that time they’ll put a convoy system in a certain times.

That’s job2 finished for a while. Missed the aurora again, I couldn’t see it and my phone doesn’t have night mode on the camera. Need to pack tonight. Got permission off my manager to finish earlier if I start earlier. Also need to go on a cleaning mission, love to come home to a clean house.

Goodness me my frustration levels are at an all time high!  I’ve been trying to close the Amazon selling account down since May. Every month there has been some issue that has prolonged the agony. Last month it was subscription fees, despite having no listings. I was advised to pay this and the account would be closed. Begrudgingly I did (also remembering to take card details off again). Guess what, I now owe another months subscription fees because they haven’t closed the account. I’ve spoken to 2 different people this morning who have sent me a link to close the account. And I can’t close the account until the fees are paid. Why is this so difficult?

  • That sounds ultra frustrating. Hope it sorts soon.

    Enjoy your holiday.

Hope you manage to identify the issue with the new stove too and that it doesn't cost too much extra.

  • Yes - a cowl, that was the word I was searching for. A lot of the ones we see in the outer isles are snazzy spinning silver ones - and I think those are usually used where blowback of smoke is an issue in some wind conditions?

The Amazon situation sounds borderline fraudulent on their part, but hopefully (?) just come down to incompetence?
