Isla went to dog agility last night and she did very well.

I had a Thomas Cook card that I could load up with dosh for when we went to Sri Lanka. Obviously can't use that one anymore, so applied for the Post Office one. Completed it on on-line and then it said it needed further verification and to go to the post office with my passport. Luckily I was out and about yesterday so called in a the post office and they didn't have a clue. Ended up ordering the money from the bank and will take cash. It seems at the moment everything I do turns into an arduous task

Just booked an appointment for my B12 jab. They can't do it next week as they're booked but have said I can go today. I want them to confirm I can have it before I drive in. Just phoned back as I haven't heard and they aren't answering the phones!!! Wonderful.

Made a lovely tea last night of pork loin, cauliflower mash (delish) carrots and green beans.

Injection got done, thanks Beanie. Been hit with a very eyewatering VAT bill this month. It's been paid but really not sure what the future holds business wise as its coming to our quiet time. Meeting tomorrow night with accountant to look at the options......

Makes me feel guilty for going on holiday on Friday but its booked and paid for and spends all accounted for, so we're going. What I do really regret is getting the car. If we'd have been given the heads up it was going to be so massive we could've been more proactive, 3 days really wasn't enough!

Currently looking for a job to potentially tide us over depending what the meeting concludes. Sigh

Had a lovely time away, though it doesn't feel like we've been away.

Managed to move most of the car purchase onto 0% deals. OH is looking to sell his vehicle (he's never liked it) but not sure what to get.

Currently looking to get a mortgage on Skye house to keep us afloat.

Glad you had a good holiday and good news about 0% deals. Shame about having to take out a mortgage... What sort of jobs have you been looking at or do you think you can turn the business around more?

Glad that you had a good break.

Sad to read about the potential mortgage though.
    More expense.

Thanks for the replies. I think that this may sound daft, we broke our backs paying too much back too soon which has had a knock on effect. The business has grown massively this year and the potential is there for it to grow next year.

We were approached by Amazon to open a shop with them, which took a while for it to get up and running. It really only took off in June which for us missed a lot of the season. As it stands at the moment I've got 1000 listings on there (not quite as many as ebay) I've still got over 200 to list but its complicated to do these ones, so while we're quiet I hope to get them on.

The holiday cottage hadn't been as busy this year, I hope we have a good year next year as that will really help with debt. We've also decided to let it out for short stays but nothing has been booked yet. The housekeeper I've now got is doing a sterling job. There was a problem while we were away, a manhole cover got broken and they just got on and fixed it. Yes I obviously had to pay for it but there were no frantic phone calls like there would've been from my previous housekeeper. I do really feel like she's got my back.

My friend came over for lunch on Thursday. I made leek and butternut squash soup followed by saucy lemon pudding. While the oven was on, cooked some roast veg and made a quiche. We ended up opening a bottle of prossecco, she only had a glass so it was rude to leave it hanging around! A little heavy headed on Friday if you get my drift. Friend is having some problems of her own and she really opened up. Trouble is I'm a fixer and found it frustrating that I couldn't 'fix' this.

OH is taking his pickup to webuyanycar type place on Sunday. He's hated since he got it.

Right waffled enough need to go and feed the cupboards which magically empty themselves!

Forgot to mention, that finally I've made a facebook sale on behalf of the business and managed to sell a secondhand ride on mower which OH delivered yesterday.
