I'm so sorry to hear that, L. I don't think you are ever ready to lose a parent. Hopefully Christmas gave you the opportunity to share memories of happier times.

The funeral has been organised for the 7th will be going down on 6th to stay at sister in laws. Have told DD2 not to come back from NZ as it wouldn't be what mum wanted.

Absolutely dreading seeing my older sister, she's currently sectioned under the mental health act and TBH she's in the best place. She's refusing to take medication as she hasn't got a problem. But when you receive an email from the sultan of Oman telling you he's got your money, most people would hit delete. My sister actually went to Oman to track this down, which meant I had a week of phone calls from the Foreign Office and the British Embassy in Muscat, hence her now being sectioned.

I know some people on here are dealing with people with mental health issues and I do take my hat off to you. I've had 46 years of my sisters behaviour, bullying, physical violence and emotional blackmail that now mum has passed I've told her that I want nothing more to do with her. I have taken this stand for my own mental health and welfare and I make no apologies if this appears harsh. Deep down I doubt they will ever be able to cure her, I think she's been ill for a very long time. From the information I've found the illness she's got is very difficult to treat and even more so when the person won't accept help.

Thought I'd post the above before the laptop ate it. The current debt situation is as follows:

    Barclaycard 0% 865
    Lloyds 0% 1570
    HSBC 0% 800
    M&S 4623.60 (not 0% aagh)

    total 7858.60

I'd love to have that gone in 12 months. Watch this space.

It's been confirmed that my sister is going. I'm dreading it, I feel sick at the thought of it and my tummy is full of knots and snakes. I think it will be good for her to have closure not so sure about the rest of us.

No advice to offer I am afraid.
If she is sectioned will imagine she will have a member of staff with her.
Hope things go as well as they can do.

Thankfully the funeral went ok and sister behaved. My stepdad on the other hand had no compassion whatsoever. Before my mum had finished cooking he was asking what are we doing with the ashes!

For some bizarre reason my mum has left DS1 who is 23 her dolls house. Go figure. He was the only one named for a specific item. I can't say he's overjoyed at it.

DD1 has been struggling with her job. On the whole she enjoys it but it consumes her whole day. She's 21 and working a 60 plus hour week. Anyway she has handed her notice in and will go travelling. She has said she'll stay till May.

We are off up north on Saturday, to do the chimney sweep and boiler service etc. We've had a decorator in for 2 weeks so it will be good to see it looking lovely.

Currently waiting to have my chimney swept at home despite it being done at Christmas. After living here for 17 years the landlords are concerned for our welfare and getting somebody in to clean them

    Speechless at stepdad.

Yes, cant imagine my DS being keen on a dolls house.

Think DD has the right idea.

Enjoy your trip up north :)

The house does indeed look lovely. Need some nice weather to get the outside painted.

Off to hire a carpet washer tomorrow and hopefully get a new mattress. Also need to order some more oil. Still seem to be using a heck of a lot. The boiler is getting serviced on Friday.

Its been a bit windy but quite nice today. Just having a lazy day and not done very much. OH has woken up from a nap so probably time for a cuppa.
