Christmas Colour schemes

As all of my Christmas decs got ruined in the flood, I have today been out looking at all the lovely decs that are already out in the shops.
This got me all excited :j(I now, I know its still early), and I have decided after lots of long thinking that this year I am going to stick to a theme of silver and white.
This set me off wondering do most people have a colour theme and if so what? Is there a really popular colour theme or ido people stick to traditional colours, or if just any colour will do?
You can tell I was bored earlier - Lol!

Silver and white sounds really nice! I tend to stick to gold and red but I also have white fluffy baubles for on the tree and the kids decorations they have made at nursery/school over the years. My DD on the other hand, bought herself a small pink christmas tree for in her bedroom with pink lights and decorations0

We had red and gold last year too but think I might change it this year. Not sure what to though. xOfficial DFW Nerd Club Member no:219In the Court Of The Crimson KingI don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.Gary Larson0

very pale purple, silver and very pale blues and whites is my theme.. kind of a frosty, winter wonderland of white look. The tree is a good fake, dark green, the fairy lights are white (OH refused to have coloured or blinking lights) and there's a few baubels and tinsel on the tree - tasteful, rather than overdone (but then we don't have kids yet.. LOL, doing the tasteful while we can!). I also do displays - there are 2 candle brackets on the wall that take an arrangement each year of foliage like holly/ivy/fir tree branches, with some berries and cones.. sprayed silver and gold (so they look a bit frosty, not completely covered with it) with a white candle in the middle. From the brackets hang two long fairly wide ribbons - about 2-3 inches wide - which christmas cards are stapled to each year. Other than a wreath in the hall.. thats it, but then our place is really too small to do too much more. When we have children and hopefully more room, we'd like to have a real tree and continue the tradition his parents have of having real candles on the tree, which is something really special.

Made the mistake a couple of years ago (when I first got my own place) of buying all bronze/copper coloured dec's, only now it's not the 'in' colour so I'm really limited if I want anything new.0

:rudolf:I have mainly red and gold but with the kids we have lots of fun things too and always coloured lights, when the kids are older i will go for a more formal tree white lights and stick to a nice colour theme.
For now its just fun for the kids and it always looks great when we've finished:xmastree::AEverytime a bell rings an angel his gets wings0
