I am 100% sure you can do this. I have followed your diary even if I don't post much. I have seen your development. You totally have this PSL. Have a good holiday x

  • Sneaks back in at the back !

Tonight I made a list of all my credit card accounts and the addresses to write to.
    I have 6.

5 of them I am confident do not have a work number for me but one of them I wasn't sure. So I rang them and the man put me through to the payment plan team. They are going to accept a far reduced payment but I am in default so need to sort out the other 5 ASAP.

Didn't want to read and run, so just popped in to say hi.

  • Thanks MaddieMay. Hi is like the verbal cup of tea. Very much appreciated.

I phoned my credit card I have 2 cards with and they took a different approach. They looked up my credit full as well as asking me my money in and money out and they are also accepting a much reduced amount.
Then going to default me in 6 months so credit file gone for 6 and half years rather than just 6 years. Oh well. In for a Penny in for a pound I think.

    So that's 3 out of 6 done.

    Hey I've been AWOL.
Hope you are ok. It took about 6 months for defaults on all of mine so pretty standard. The weird thing is that after that time just flies so it will be up and gone before you know it xxx
Going to read back and catch up. How was hols?

    Hi PSL

Glad the ones you have spoken to so far have agreed reduced payments. Have they also put a freeze on interest for the time being?

Make sure you have an income and expenditure overview ready as they will probably all expect to see one if you are asking to reduce payments. Make sure this is viable to live off/to meet all priority payments such as council tax and mortgage etc as it is unlikely you will be able to get any credit and you do not want to fall into the payday loan spiral

Good luck with the rest of the companies and hope you can make arrangements to help you start making a dent in the debt

  • Oh goodness thank you everyone, I just feel like such a rubbish human being.

I've only phoned 2 and both were more kind than I could ever have expected. One of them said about my £400 annual hair bill - we are not here to judge.
But I've taken £8000 off you that I can't pay back but I get my hair done at £400 a year!!!
Oh it's just awful 3 more to go but I may just send letters. I've rang the worst 2 and they were very kind, not sure whether to keep phoning or just send letters.
Barclays, Sainsbury's, Tesco not yet contacted.
I may phone Barclays and Tesco and write to Sainsbury's.

Ps sorry about the World Cup everyone.
