Then I'm going to get some money paid back to my dad so that if I need some again it is there. I know I should have an emergency fund but I think this way will work better for me.
I'm not good at putting money aside. I know I'll get a holiday invite and it will be gone.
My parents will help but it would be easier to ask for help once I have paid back the original money.
.
Yep, agree with this 100%. Your parents sound like a good emergency fund and always much more comfortable to ask when they can see that you're paying it back.August 2018: Secured Debt £70,003 Unsecured Debt (DMP) £34,657 Total £104,660 DFD: March 2031

Exhausted today. Had enough of telling people that I don't have a lot of money and can't do everything.
They say they understand but they don't. 2 fall outs in one week. 2 holiday invites, lunch and dinner invites. And no money till Friday!
The thing that doesn't help is that I do have some money for some social, but not all the social, so they don't understand why I can do some things and not others. Too many things and not a giant social budget.
Feeling drained. The weekend cannot come soon enough.
Mon - home pm
Tue- drink with friend (planned ages ago)
Wed home pm, wash hair, watch film
Thur - food shop
Fri - Food shop and cook meals for freezing
Sat - with family
Sun - with family then home
Mon - bank holiday - home2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

Hang on in there PSL, with the experience of age I can confidently say that it is true that nothing lasts for ever, not even the really rotten stuff. You have taken steps to sort out your finances and I hope that you can learn some techniques to deal with the social stuff.
I am still plodding away reducing my CC and not letting myself be tempted by nice things for my garden and expensive face stuff.
Take care.

Hi PSL,
How are you?
I'm doing my DMP with SC, at while I am so glad of their help, at the moment I feel like taking them and lopping them into next week. Ive a few issues that they haven't replied to me on. Being selfish I know
I know what you mean in an earlier post about not telling anyone and this being an outlet. It is. I have some very affluent friends, they were luckier than me with money and also married so less outgoings per household etc, anyway here I am, skint, emotional and single, and this is my outlet. I listen to my friends criticise those who have no money, who live one paycheck to the next, and I think, 'I'm that person, that totally skint person'. I think I should be an actress, cos every day is an act for me right now.
I'll pop by and fill up your diary with my ramblings too xx
Keep smiling, putting one foot in front of the other, you're doing an ace job and our oscars are waiting for us

Thank you both for very kind posts.
It's pay day tommorow so I need to be organised and pay all the credit cards manually and the council tax and other bills.
Cooking a chilli tonight and then a curry and maybe spaghetti Bol tommorow depending on feeezer space. It is going to be a long month to pay day.
I love my friends but I've got too many. Which is brilliant for life but rubbish for debt.
And I need everything. But more Need to conserve funds.
I have £25 pending from opinium research and half way with you gov. And £1 off with populous so hoping for something I won't be screened out of.
Just very stressful!
Hope everyone is getting on ok. xxx2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

PSL I totally get you, I've eaten like 60% of my wages for the last 8 months!
Get all the bills and debt written down and that will motivate you, well that always works for me so might be worth a try.
You still need to have a life while you are on this journey, I know a lot of people will say 100% focus on the debt but that doesn't work for us all. I know that for me that would never work, it's all about balance I say.
