Well done. It can't have been easy, and it's tough on the vendor too.

The nicest house in the wrong place isn't the best family home.

Well done on making your decision. Sometimes these things can be a blessing In disguise. Im sure theres probably an even better house with your name written on it.

Nothing can compare to the amount of stress that the above property could have potentially have caused. Keep us updated on your house hunting x

You are now the proud owner of a piece of universal knowledge usually acquired the hard way namely, that estate agents lie. May the force be with you on your search, kezzygirl. :D

  • I received a call from the ea- the seller is keen to proceed with the purchase and was wondering if reducing the price may help? pmsl shame they didn't think of that when we first offered lower than the amount they would accep! explained to her that no, we are not interested, namely because of steptoe's yard and we do not want to live in that village anymore.

You made the right decision 100%.

We moved last May to what we now consider our dream house and far away from our nightmare neighbours who sounded a lot like yours!
He used to also "tinker" with cars in his back garden, which actually meant every evening when he came in from work, he would be revving engines and making loud noises while grinding and welding bit of cars back together, you have definitely missed a bullet there.

I'm sure they'd now bend over backwards to still sell to you, but don't feel bad about it; they and other neighbours allowed the situation to develop over time.

Looking at your posting history, this is the second purchase you've pulled-out from, both with good reason. The two houses possibly represented 'good value' in a physical sense, but remember to seek out explanations at an early stage if somewhere seems an especially good deal.

If they are visually impaired, so do I though I would hope they would have someone with them who could see the same things kezzygirl has noticed.
