Sounds like enough to put anybody off!0

Most first time buyers get the jitters, but what you are experiencing are huge red flags not jitters. Run for the hills without spending another penny on this house.0

Was it all like this when you first viewed?
That would have been the end of my interest.
As others have said, I would walk away now. You'll lose a few quid in fees etc but you may well save yourself years of misery.0 -
I would not walk away... I would run, screaming.:eek::eek:0
-
Another vote for walking (well, running actually) away
If you do go ahead with this purchase, I can almost guarantee that you'll be back on this forum in a few months time asking how to deal with nightmare neighbours0 -
As students we went to view a houseshare that was on such an obviously grim road that we didn't even bother going inside.
You should think yourself lucky that this neighbour is helpfully advertising their selfishness, rather than letting you find out when it's too late. Shipping container !!!!!!!They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
Are you sure it is a shipping container? Maybe they are using it as a granny flat, given the type of people they appear to be from your description, OP. Or it could be a cannabis farm... Does it have power and water?0
-
Run for the hills as fast as you can before it's too late!0
-
I agree - that all sounds quite fishy. I'd walk away. There is something better around the corner.0
