plans for today are paperwork this morning then into town to the post office followed by coffee with a friend. I am planning to make some leek and potato soup for the weekend and have 2 loads of washing on the line to see to .

My wrist feels better today, put some ice on it last night as I'd overdone the cleaning a bit and it was swollen and sore again. Its hard to take it easy!

catch up with you all later! this daily thread is a lifeline ATM with me being stuck at home:T

  • Morning all,

Bright, crisp morning here. Just got back from dropping the car at the garage so thats out the way. Mum has just called to say she's coming up for the day because she could see I wasn't well last night. Told her that I was feeling a lot better but she said she'll fetch her craft stuff up and we'll have an afternoon of scrapbooking together. Love that. :D

Shall rush and get the washing out and try and clear the ironing a little before she arrives so that I can have a guilt free day. Promised to cook her Jamie Olivers lemon/garlic chicken with a couple of chicken thighs thats in the freezer, so we are set for a lovely day.

Hugs to all those needing them today and have a good Friday.

  • Pam I get comments about my tattoos all the time. It's so predjudice. I had 4 done during my teens, and people now assume I'm uneducated, common and rough. I'm by no means wealthy, but I do have manners, I am well educated and I believe in good decorum (which appears to be the one thing these 'judges' don't). Sadly this is the way our society has become :(

This morning I got up at 7.30 and watched TV for a bit. I'll go and have a shower later and perhaps make some bread. Also got some pots to do, which I could see OH had no intention of doing last night - grr he's driving me a bit mad, he seems to think this is a holiday for me. No it isn't - it's dull, dull, dull. I think if he hates his job that much then he should look for a new one really.

I need to let of steam!!!!! Thanks in advance for reading!
Came home in a foul mood from work yesterday, Had a row with my manager, as I needed today off work to look after my DS who's broke up from school. Told her she was lucky I asked for the holiday, as I was going to phone in sick! As I couldnt find anyone to have him!

OH came home in a grump, they are making cut backs at work, and because he's still with the agency, his job may not be safe! Great, thats all we need.

I managed to clean the kitchen to take the frustration out on the tiles!
Had to run a few errands last night, so we had chippy for tea! Only - I didnt get to eat mine, as DS & OH decided to argue again. Why do they do it at meal times. I lost my appetite and threw my dinner in the sink. Then OH started on me, so I kicked my oven door in temper, (wish I'd kicked him now) as I broke the glass! So now Im without a cooker! and I dont get paid for another week, so cant get a new one or at least a second hand one until then!

Had lots planned for today, but thats all gone out the window. Will head back to bed shortly.

    Have a good day all
    Love Emma xxx

Mrs Mix - Good luck at the hospital
    Mrs Mc - Well done:beer:
Hugs to everyone else who needs one today.

Ds1 is having a bad day! He came home from the school disco distraught - there were 2 slow dances at the end. A 3rd year asked him to dance for the first one but he was too shy to ask anyone for the second - even though a girl he likes wasn't dancing - so he was really upset with himself. So much pressure at 11! Plus his entire games kit has been missing for a week and his form teacher is being particularly unhelpful about it and he has a science exam today, which he puts himself under a lot of pressure to do well in because of dh's job. Think I'll make one of D&DD's apple braids with raspberry jam and apple to cheer him up when he gets home. Oh yes, and he's left his packed lunch at home - he has a smart card to get dinner so he won't starve, but he'll be worrying about eating some of the stuff because of his lactose intolerance.

Packed lunches for the kids - jacket potato with l/o pork curry, tortilla chips, apple juice and grapes (ds1 will be cross he left that behind)
Me - Fennel and pecorino soup.

    Dinner - spag bol.

Going to have a store cupboard challenge this week whilst dh is in China - easier to do whilst it's just me and the boys. So I'm off to tidy the larder in a minute so I can see what we've got.

    Have a good day everyone

    Morning all

Crazy Chick - :grouphug: Hope you're feeling a bit calmer today.

Hugs to all the poorly ones and :j to all those with energy.

DD2 has gone back to bed - cos that's what holidays are for don't you know!!! Saves having the heating on - I'm rushing about so quite warm but it's really chilly here today - DH said the car therm. was reading 2 degrees on his way to work.

Listed a load of stuff on freecycle this morning - was hoping to do a bootfair but the local indoor one before we move, is all booked up - DH refuses to stand in a field this time of year so I've stippulated that I'd rather it all went in one go to a charity - scouts got in first so I feel that my junk is doing some good - saves me a trip to the chairty shop too.

Just scrubbed out the cupboard under the sink - how does it get so dirty considering all I keep in it is cleaning stuff?????? Anyway - it's all clean and sparkly and everything's in a handy box to take to the new house when ready.

Got loads of wood and coal to use up before we go - no open fire at the new place  I do like a nice open fire - will just have to use it all up here instead.

Going to make some chicken and sweetcorn soup for lunch and then dinner tonight will be a hotchpotch of portions from the freezer - DH has curry - DD's have what looks like bolognaise and I'll have a bit of both with some crusty bread :D

Hope you all have a great day.
