O.S Daily thread Fri 19th October

Options
off to get the sticky

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 19th October. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning everyone
It's cold here so I've put the heating on for a whille to take the chill off
I have a hospital appointment this morning to have some x-rays done on my knee before I see the orthopedic consultant next week I have to be there at 10am but I will still be there an hour later as it always runs late
need to make some rolls when I get home and tidy up the freezers and make some rolls for the freezer and see how many meals I have in there as it's coming up to the end of the month and money is a little tight at the mo so I want to use up what I have.
have a good day

Morning. Looks frosty out there today. It's Friday. For a change we all have the weekend off. So no running to Mc'd with son or Sainsubury with daughter. Big steak for tea I think. Glass of wine and look forward to the weekend.

Bad night here as I thought, lodger got in just after 10, she was in the kitchen crashing & banging till 1, hanging washing out at 2 & on the pc playing music till 4.
Still she's away for a couple of days now, whoopie doo.
Hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester
p.s. Yes I do ask her to be quiet, but she only remembers for 2 or 3 nano seconds, plus her answer to everything seems to be 'Back home everyone does this' I keep explaining that she's not 'back home' but she has the attitude that I'm weird not her.

Morning everyone :) I've got the day 'off' so have time to join you all on here properly.

OH's parents are visiting us tomorrow for the weekend, so have to do house top to bottom (including dreaded hallway and windows) and have 3 lots of washing to do (first of which is vibrating the floor as we speak), and intend to make a red pepper / tomato and red chilli soup for dinner tonight (my first go at soup!) Am doing this with a slight hangover though... bloody gin!!! xx

    Morning all.
Hugs to everyone with troubles, illness, lodger problems ect(())

Well ds1 has broken up for half term, so only have 3 kids to get to school on time.
Me and ds1 are going to spend the day shopping and cooking.
He has asked to do tea tonight, so he is making homemade burgers and apple crumble for afters! Im loving this, since he started cookery lessons at school hes wanting to help out loads!! After half term he is making savoury scones, he will soon know enough recipes to do a whole weeks meal plan!!!LOL.

Ironing still to be done and have to go and collect a new dinning room table from freecycle later.

Keep warm everyone, frosty here again this morning, heating is on here too!!
    Off to make the pack-ups
    Take care

Morning all. MRSMIX - good luck at the the hospital - hope you don't have to wait too long.

AMIE - Congrats on getting all the ironing done! I did a load of comps the other day - there's a beautiful designer handbag I'm hoping to win!

HARDUPHESTER - you'll be glad when your lodger has gone, won't you?

TWINK - having read your posts since KYLE has been away, I think you've been wonderful - it'll be so nice for her to come home to a house that has been so lovingly looked after. I bet you can't wait to see her.

Well, I'm hoping to give the house a good clean, change the sheets and so on, then go and do my food shopping. I had a pretty good night's sleep again last night so I should make the most of the energy!

No change in MIL at the moment - I don't know if that's a good sign or not.

Well, off to have a shower so see you later. Have a great Friday, everyone.

  • Morning all early risers and those to follow!
    :hello:
Really struggled when alarm went of at 6 this morning  I've been sleeping in till 7 most of this week so this morning is a shock to the system, at least it's friday!

Mrs Mix - good luck at the hospital!
Hardup Hester - your lodger sounds like she's taking the ****. We have a similar problem with noisy neighbours as our walls are very thin, we have tried speaking to them but either they don't speak english or they're just plain ignorant, they just smile and nod then carry on their own sweet way. We've taken to wearing earplugs every night as its preferable to sleeping in the garage

    Plan for today:
W*** 7.45 till 12.15 (got to go in a minute!)
    Martial arts lesson 12.30-1.30
    Lunch
    Walk the dog
    1 hour of envelopes
    Work 3.30 - 7
    Dinner, hoover, flop

Going to use a tin of campbells condensed soup and some garlic and herb philli to make a pasta sauce and I'm sure I've got a pack of lardons in the freezer.

Hope you all have a lovely Friday and ((((hugs)))) to those that need them now and for the rest of the day!

Morning all, very cold here too, a couple of the cars outside have a small frost on them.

Off to work today, DD has finished school so she will go to her nans for the morning, then she has a dance audition at school to see if they get a place in the play, fingers crossed for her, I hope she gets in, as I think it would help her confidence. So I will meet her in Chichester after work, I will try to finish my xmas shopping just a few socking bits for DD to get.

We have HM Pizza and salad for tea, although there is an M + S in Chi, so may pop in there and get us a nice Pudding or some chocolate as a treat.
